You can have a DNA test done with your ex if he will agree to it. However, this could upset the situation with him, so you have to decide what you want to do. If what you are saying is correct, you got pregnant during your menstrual period. Very unusual but not completely impossible. More likely, the estimate of when you became pregnant is off because you weren't 5 weeks along. I'm not sure how you are getting your fertile days and ovulation day. I suspect that they are off, too. You cannot be fertile before ovulation AFAIK. I suspect you ovulated somewhere around Nov 6 and the sperm was still alive in your uterus. Do you know if it is a boy or girl? I have heard that Y sperm are more energetic but die sooner whereas X sperm are slower but longer living. That would favor it being a girl if it is true.

Sperm can be viable in your body for up to 3 days which means you can have sex while you are not ovulating, start ovulating 2 days later and STILL have the possibility of getting pregnant. Ovulation and period cycles can change and be affected by your hormones, stress, diet, exercise etc... so when you are thinking you might have been ovulating... might not even be the case... its SO hard to be certain.

If you only had sex with the guy at the club 10 days before you found out you were pregnant... chances are REALLY slim that it would be his.. 1. you would only be 10 days pregnant...not five weeks, like they estimated you were when you found out you were pregnant.

Its also possible to still get a period while you are pregnant... its usually light... but it CAN happen.

I think if you truly only slept with that guy 1 time on the 20th, and found out you were pregnant on the 30th and were told you were 5 weeks... the likelihood it being his would be slim as you would only be 10 days along, not five weeks.

But you should really just talk to your doctor about your concerns at your next visit, ask them when they estimate you concieved your baby for a clearer picture of the timeline. Also ask them what the possiblities of them being incorrect on that estimated date... just so that you have a more clear idea of how sure you can be.

Scars remind us of where we've been...they don't have to dictate where we're going.

Pregnancy is counted from the last period, not date of conception, fwiw.
How do you know your fertile days? Do you chart?

To elaborate: Your pregnancy week is counted from the first day of your last period (or estimated from ultrasound if you didn't have a period beforehand, whee!) So, a woman who is "5 weeks along" has been physically pregnant for more like 2-3 weeks. Some doctors don't count this way, but mine did and so do many others.
As HD mentioned, your doc should be able to give you an estimated date of conception, but it's just an estimate. Unless you know when you ovulated, it's hard to say that one man is more likely than the other to be the father. A DNA test is your best bet.
Does your ex know there is a possibility of his not being the father? Do you have any way of contacting the other man?
