Or so it feels like.!
As most of you know I'm 18 weeks pregnant now.
My apetite has gotten a LOT bigger. I know you're not actually meant to "eat for two".
But I'm constantly hungry and eating a lot now and having a lot of little snacks in between, and my portions are bigger.
Is there any way to not be so hungry during pregnancy?

I eat my breakfast and still feel hungry, I just don't feel satisfied with the amount of food so I eat more.
Same with my lunch and dinner, the same regular portions I had before just don't fill me. And the feeling of hunger comes on every hour or so.
I know I should be eating that little bit more since I am pregnant, but I'm feeding a baby, not an elephant! lol.
When I don't eat the extra portions I feel moody and still hungry??
I didn't notice I was eating so much until my mom said "Every time I look at you you're eating something".

I don't think it's the "eating for 2" so much as it is the hormonal changes. When I'm PMS'ing, on some months, I feel like I could eat almost ANYTHING. Food dominates my thoughts. What I'll eat, when I'll eat it, how I'll eat it. It's pretty disturbing. BUT, I have heard that pregnancy is 10 times worse where that's concerned. You just want things SO bad. I think it's okay to "feed the urge" a bit, just don't overindulge. Stay away from sweets as much as you can, steer clear from foods with preservatives if at all possible, drink lots of water, stay away from caffiene. You're not likely to change the appetite, or the cravings, you just have to learn to control what you allow yourself.
Alot of women take pregnancy as an opp to eat whatever whenever. Don't do that. It won't be good for you OR the baby.
Now, go fix yourself some peanut butter and pickles. Lol!

Yeah BD I don't want to over indulge. I'll peel and cut up some apples and other fruit. When I do eat more, I make sure it's healthy foods.
I've never ever needed to be on a diet before so I'm not sure what it's like to have to restrain myself from eating more. I suppose the food could be classed as a craving too, so that doesn't help.
I don't mind putting on any extra weight, it won't do me any harm at my size, but as long as it's put on healthily. But I know that over eating isn't good. So how do I actually try stop the hungry feeling that comes on and hour or so after I've already eaten?

I'm not sure you can stop the feeling. You may even discover new foods you never knew you liked.Can't believe you're 18 weeks already!! Getting exciting. Sooo when do we find out whether the next WH family member is a male or a female??

Get organic apples and don't peel them.
Do your munching and crunching on healthy stuff - romaine lettuce leaves or fresh spinach leaves, if you can get pomegranates, they are healthy and take forever to eat.
Sounds like your satiety response is a little off. That could be stress - you have had a bit. Meditation may help, walking or running may also.
I love the smell of coleslaw. I actually open the fridge, take it out and smell it, lol. But I hate the taste of it, yet I love mayo on all my sandwiches.
My next scan is about 2 weeks away, and I'm not sure yet if I want to find out if it's a boy or a girl. I do and I don't.

I've been doing light exercise, walking. Thinking now that once my eating is being balanced out with the exercise, it should actually be okay?![]()

Yes mam. Sounds like you're doing perfectly. Keep yourself active. Keep those muscles toned (it will make child birth easier on you too!). Eat, enjoy it and watch that baby grow!!
