    Unhappy am I ovulating???

    Hi everyone,
I had an endometrial eblation done 3 years ago, I have not had any periods since then.
Me & my hubby would really love to have a baby now though and I'm not sure if it's possible?
I am trying to get my periods to start again by taking estrogen, but nothing is working yet.
I also did the temperature check every morning to see if I'm ovulating, but my temp was the same every morning, I did this for about a month and a half.
Am I still ovulating, but because I'm not having my periods it isn't showing on my temp or am I just not ovulating?
I'm really desperate to find some answers
    Thanks

This question is better answered by a OB/Gyn. Each woman's body and response are a little different and your specific health issues obviously would be a very important factor in this.

Make an appointment. Have your full history outlined and a list of questions you need answered prepared before you go in. That way you should get the answers you need.

WC is right. I'm not sure how the estrogen supplement will affect things. But for your own knowledge, yes it is "possible" to get pregnant and not be having a period, but highly unlikely. And especially if your temps aren't showing any thermal shifts. One thing you CAN do is to become empowered by learning how your body works. I highly recommend getting yourself a copy of "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" by Toni Weschler. In addition to the book, if you get the 10th anniversary edition it comes with a free trial software for charting. It takes the complexity out of charting. But the book isn't just about charting, it teaches you what to look for, what is realistic, how your body works. Because doctors see SO many women, they typically use averages for things such as ovulation. FOr instance, they will tell you that most likely you ovulate around day 14 of your cycle. But as all women are different, some do not. I'm one of them. I usually don't ovulate before day 20 and sometimes even into the 30's if I'm going to have a long cycle. Once you start ovulating, it's important to know exactly WHEN this is taking place so that you know when you have the highest fertility. On your low fertility days, your chances of getting pregnant are slim to none.

Right now, it sounds like your body isn't ready to start ovulating yet. Right now, the focus needs to be on getting your cycle back to normal and THEN focus on pregnancy. You'll set yourself up for a lot of disappointment if you're hoping for pregnancy every month when you're not even ovulating.

So, as soon as you have your first period again, begin charting your BBT even during your period. In addition, you can monitor your cervical fluid (the book teaches you exactly what to look for). From this you can learn a variety of things: 1. when you're ovulating = FERTILE!, 2. how long your luteal phase is (time from ovulation to period) because a normal luteal phase should be consistently between 12-16 days. If it less than 12 days you may experience fertility issues because the egg doesn't have time to implant before your period starts and the lining is shed. If it falls in the 12-16 day range then that's another checkmark you can add to your list of getting pregnant. 3. If you have a cervical fluid that is conducive to egg fertilization. If you do not, there are things the doctor can give you to help that. 4. . Once you know when you've ovulated, you can predict almost to the day that your period will start. If you've ovulated and get to day 17 and your period hasn't started, start really paying attention to your temps. If they remain up for 1-2 weeks after your predicted period start date, start taking hpt's because there's a good chance youre pregnant. 5.. You will have all your information down to a science when you visit your doctor. You can tell him/her exactly what's going on with your body so they can best help you.

Don't get discouraged. Get empowered. And be patient. Stress won't help anything.
