    Default Trying to get pregnant...

My boyfriend and I are going to try and have a baby. I have had 2 miscarriages in the past so I am concerned that I will have another miscarriage.

I am wondering if anybody has any tips on what we can do to help us have a baby? Is there special food we can eat?

Does anybody know of any websites that I can visit to help me figure out what the best route is?

    Any suggestions are welcome.

I read in a magazine at the OBGYN's office about some foods that will up your chances a bit on getting pregnant, sadly... I cant remember any. (sorry). But I have read about tracking your body's temperature and using that to plan to get pregnant. You can google it. Its something about tracking your body's temperature and the day that it is the warmest is the day you are most likely to conceive, thats what my aunt did. Maybe try an ovulation kit at walmart? Use that to see when you are ovulating and most likely to get pregnant. I hope I helped at least a little bit. Good luck! And dont stress too much about it. When you stress and worry about not getting pregnant you wont. Dont ask why, its just how it is. Again, Good luck!!

Look up the Fertility Awareness Method of birth control, then use it backwards!

Have your doctors examined why you had the miscarriages? Are they waiting for you to have a certain number of them before investigating?

Are there any inhibitors to your fertility that you know of? Smoking, drinking, being under or overweight? How regular is your cycle? Do you know of any family problems with fertility or endometriosis?

I will be TTC in the next few months, I think, though I am breastfeeding and my period has not yet returned (my son is 8m old.) I had a miscarriage shortly before becoming pregnant with my son, but my pregnancy with him was 100% normal. Good luck!

My doctor said that they would not do any testing until I had 3 miscarriages. I do not smoke, but my boyfriend does smoke(he is trying to quit at the moment). I used to drink alot, but since dating my boyfriend I have not drank as much as I have as he does not like it, so I drink maybe every 2 months. As far I know I am the perfect weight for my height. My grandma had 2 miscarriages before, and my mom had one miscarriage but she did not know it was a miscarriage at the time.

So far at this time, I am 3 days late for my period....but I think I am just from being stressed out, as I have been worried about finding a job and paying bills.

I thought so, about your doctor waiting until 3 miscarriages. It's kind of sad to think, if there is a "real problem," that they wait so long to investigate it!

I'm glad to hear you're prepared, bodily, for pregnancy. If you have a few pregnancy tests stocked, you might want to use one! (I thought I was just stressed or ill before verifying my pregnancies!)

Something you may want to do now, while you still have "time," is start researching your "parenting choices." The big ones that cause so much debate online like breastfeeding vs formula, sleep training, cloth diaper vs disposables vs elimination communication, circumcision, etc ... and make sure your gyno and the hospital where you deliver will be supportive of those choices! It will save you lots of trouble in the long term

It does suck so much. I hate not knowing if I am fertile or not. Or if it is my boyfriend whose sperm is not good. They should not wait until you have 3 miscarriages, they should be able to test when ever the patient asks for them. It would save a lot of time and heart ache for the females out there who want babies.

I have 2 pregnancy tests available to use right now, but I was told to wait 6 days of being late before testing. Right now is only the 3rd day, so I do not know if I should really. Plus I did test 4 days before my expected period and it came back negative.

Blah, if only life choices were easier and could be made for you.

Plus, I have not had any pregnancy symptoms aat all. The only symptoms I have had is peeing a bit more, tired more than usual and my period being late. I have been getting cramps off and on, and something that felt like heartburn a couple days ago and maybe an increased appetite.

Follow Little's advice on this. It can keep you from TTC when you are not fertile and have you TTC when the timing is right.
