Thread: been spottting for about two weeks.. could i be preg?

me and my boyfriend had unprotected sex and i did miss one pill on my birth control and ever since i've been spotting for about two weeks. i am so scared to tell my mom and i don't know if i could be preg! i can't have this baby, i'm only 16 and it would ruin my whole life. does anyone have any suggestion on what to do!?

Calm down. When you missed your pill, did you take two the next day? With birth control, if you miss one pill, and take two the next day you are still considered protected. If you miss two pills in a row, you must wait and start a new pack and are NOT protected.

I highly doubt your pregnant. Spotting can be very common on the pill. Go to the Dollar Store and buy a cheap HPT just to be sure.

With all this said, you're 16........NO method of BC is 100% reliable. You know you don't need to get pregnant, and though I'm sure you trust your bf, it's VERY important that you also be using condoms at this point in your life. You don't want to get pregnant, but you also don't want to get some horrible STD that you could have for the rest of your life either. Please take care of yourself. You only have one body, one life.....it's yours, and it's your job to take care of it.
