    hey , kayla here

Im 18 yrs old im in college and my boyfriend and i have been having sex.
ive had sex before and i have never had a problem with getting my period on time ..
i had my period at the beginning of December when my period was over my boyfriend wanted to have sex.. this was like a week after and we had sex .. he used a condom but it didnt break.
But for the past month ive been having trouble sleeping and eating
i should have got my period on the 25th but i didnt get it. and im getting very scared that i might be pregnant ..?
So could the lack of eating and sleeping have something to do with me not getting my period on time ..
Should you i go the doctors ?
    Should i buy a pregnancy test ?
    please help me out

    Hi Kayla,

    Welcome to the Forum.

Our bodies can definately be thrown out of wack, if we are stressed, not eating, sleeping, it's used to be alive, healthy and so it can throw our periods out, time wise.

You used a Condom, it didn't break, I'd say you have very, if none of a chance of being pregnant.

If you are concerned, try a home pregnancy test however, really you shouldn't be due until 3 or 5 days time if you had your last period at the beginning of December, why not hold out a week...

well, i cant tell my parents because i told them i havent had sex with my boyfriend yet .im at home right now for the winter break and my boyfriend lives in peterborough he said when i i get back to school he was going to take me to the clinic. but im going back January 6th is that waiting too long ?
im scared to go to the doctors because my mom was asking me if my relationship with my boyfriend is getting serious and if i needed to go on the birth control. But i was scared that if i get there and that they do some tests and they tell my mom something that i dont want her to know about .

Kayla, you are 18 years of age, your Mum understands that you are a woman now, not a child... She is being sensible, ensuring you are safe from pregnancy, exactly the reason why you are here.

You have to trust your Mother, if you don't want her to know that you are serious "now" you can tell her that you are getting serious and allow her to take you to the Doctors for the pill...Just ask for privacy, the Doctor can not disclose information to her, as you are an Adult...Just say you want to do it on your own.

Again, 1st week of Dec, 1st week of Jan, I can't see there being much of a problem I believe you should be due around 20th, 31st, 1st Jan....

They can NOT tell your Mother anything Remember that, Doctor , patient confidentiality you are an adult sweet.

I know it's scary, but CW is right - no clinic can tell your parents any test that you've taken, or the results.

Stress can really do a number on the body. Don't freak out yet. It's not rare to be late. You did the right thing with using protection, and it sounds like you're responsible and mature with letting yourboyfriend know what's going on.

Good luck and continue having safe sex.

    Kayla,
I have a Daughter that is 21, never had sex and her Periods are on and off on the Dates (Expected )

It is not a Actual Date, but about every 21 to 28 days, you will Recycle and have a Period . It will last for some 3-7 days , so most can minus and or count , what we used to call the MONTHY.

The thing is, here, you seem not to even be near your " Expected " date for your next Period.

Stress is a factor and Sex is a Factor. Eating, Exercising can throw out a schedule of any kind.

i had my period at the beginning of December
How long did it last ? What day did it end ?
Those are your " General Factors ".

You used a Condom and it did not "break ", is a good thing. One you are Using Safety when having Sex. It seems a bit early to worry over a possible pregnancy.

Can't tell Mom and Dad you are Sexually active ?

That can be a difficult one. I really had a hard time on explaining when I was a grown woman that could make choices.

Parents can Live though it. They were there once before you .

Best if you just talk with Mom & Pops and Admit you have been sexually active. and that you are Concerned about your own Protection and Detection.

If on their Insurance plan, get the Works.
