    Default Pregnant on the pill?

Hi guys. New to this forum, so bear with me!

I've been on the pill (Marvelon) for 3 months. I had sex throughout November, and my period was late in December, and a little lighter than usual. My period this month was really strange. Usually it's really heavy, but it only lasted about 3 days instead of my usual 7, and there was barely any (sorry if tmi...), not a lot would show on the pad but only when I wiped. I missed a lot of pills in November (around 5-6). Recently, I've been getting super bad heartburn, strange abdominal pain and I'm genuinely knackered all the time. I thought if I were pregnant, then my periods would stop even if I were on the pill? Does anyone know if it's possible to be pregnant on the pill and still get withdrawal bleeds?

If you missed a lot of pills, and had intercourse, you could be pregnant. If you ARE pregnant, the bleeding wouldnt be your period, it would be abdominal bleeding. You arent able to have your period while bleeding. Some women dont realize they are pregnant because they see bleeding and assume its their period, but really they are pregnant and its abdominal bleeding.
If you did miss pills and had intercourse, take a pregnancy pill. I would suggest to jump on that now because if you did conceive in November, you'd be two months along, and you should really take Prenatals and schedule and OBGYN appt.
I have an IUD in and still ended up pregnant, although I lost mine - most likely because of the IUD. You can get pregnant on BC, and since you said you missed some pills, your chances increased. Just run to the store and buy a test, doesnt have to be the fancy ones that say 'pregnant'. You can get the rip off brand, they work just as well - I know from experience haha. Or find a 99cent store, they sell them. Ive never taken one but I've heard from another woman that they work just as well as the expensive ones.

Just go take a test to make sure. :]

slouise, if you've missed that many pills and are now experiencing strange bleeding I would take a home pregnancy test. If it comes back negative, it might just be from the pill lightening your cycle. When I was on the birth control pill, my periods were lighter (not shorter, but lighter flow). The changes could be due to the pill. If your pregnancy test comes back positive, stop taking your birth control right away and schedule an appointment with your doctor so you can get put on some prenatal vitamins and make sure everythings good. Let us know what happens!
~Today, any person can fight the battles of one day It is only when you and I add the burdens of those two awful eternity's- yesterday and tomorrow, that we break down. It is not the experience of today that drives people mad. It is the remorse of bitterness for something which happened yesterday and the dread of what tomorrow may bring.
Let us therefore, live but one day at a time.~
