Default mcdonalds sweet tea ... omg : )

So lately I have been addicted to McDonald's sweet tea. I get the large, fill it to the top with ice, then fill with the tea. Okay okay I know that Caffine and sugar are tough topics, I can't help but feel guilty, I have like 3 a week ... I SIP it threw out the day... And I drink plenty of water. Should I stop? Did any one else drink sweet tea, or coffee during pregnancy? I didnt drink any caffine until I was over 20 weeks.

You know me... I worry so much.

Moderation is the key, and I think you are going over.
Also, sipping through a straw throughout the day is HORRIBLE. You can develop cavities because it is constantly being put in your mouth throughout the day.
I developed a cavity on the back of my top far back molar. Getting a filling is bad enough, imagine getting one while the chair is almost completely upside down.
It was the worst dentist experience I have ever had.

That is an ABSURD amount of sugar to have in one serving.

Yikes and I was mostly worried about Caffine!
I'd hate to get a cavity!
I wish I craved something healthier! Darn you McDonald's!

Get the small - it's half the size and half the everything else. Also, you should know that McD's brews their tea fresh at the restaurant, so if someone decides it's "not sweet enough," they can just add more sugar. So the sugar count may be even higher than in their nutrition info!
It sounds like you're making your tea yourself at the counter, so you could also cut the sweetness by using half unsweet tea.
IMO, everybody deserves a little treat, but you don't have to jump in the deep end with it - you can still enjoy it when it's a little doctored

I fill the cup up with ice and don't completely fill it to the top with tea, I doubt I'm getting a large, but its still a lot.
I decided to cut back on it.
Maybe once or twice a week : )
I hated sweet tea until my 3rd trimester! Now its so good!

Actually, if you look on the side/seam of the cup, you should see two short lines. One is higher than the other. These are a guideline of how much ice to add, and the higher one is for tea. If I recall, it is very near the top of the cup. That is, if they're still doing the lines. It's been a while.
You probably *are* getting what they'd consider a whole sweet tea, but hey - if that's your craving and you feel better having it, go for it. I craved sushi like a fiend, even though the ingredients were really high in sodium. But if I didn't eat it, I would go nuts. Some extra sugar for a few months really, really beats going nuts!

Okay, you know the sugar is bad and so is the caffeine (at any level...remember, that it is a stimulant).

If you must drink this garbage (not judging, just expressing my opinion of it) order something called "a half split" or "split half" or something similar...

It's half straight tea and half sweet tea.

Luckily it seems I have lost my craving for it.
Who knows why I was craving something I hated 8 months ago... Now its back to milk : )
