    Question Progesterone Levels?

Well I got the results back yesterday from the doctor and I'm PREGNANT! But the nurse was saying that I have low Progesterone levels, so she put me on Prometrium and I have to take that for a week and I have to go back next Tuesday to take another blood test and see how I'm doing then. What are my chances that I will miscarry if my Progesterone doesn't go back up? Has this ever happened to anyone? I don't want to worry and stress myself out, but if I miscarry I'll be heartbroken. I want my baby to be born healthy! Any advice is welcome! Thanks!

If a woman has low progesterone levels this can be an indication of a threatened miscarriage, however the doctor did give you something to help so just prayer and hope it will eventually rise. As for now, dont do anything to increase your chances of a miscarriage more like, dont lift heavy things.

    Post Well...

I was on Prometrium for about 4 weeks after I had a blood test to find out if I was pregnant. It worked as far as my Progesterone levels were concerned, my levels shot up, so it did it's job, but I just miscarried last week. The doctor said that a lot of women miscarry with their first pregnancy so, that made me feel alittle better. But I know that the progesterone did what it was suppose to. Congrats on your pregnancy! You'll be just fine! Good Luck!

    Default Prometrim

Sorry to hear that Blueyed21, I also had a miscarried with my first pregnancy. I did have three after which I had a hard time being able to carry full term. Know I am trying again. But my doctor said it do to low hcg levels and gave me Prometrium. He said that my last miscarriage was not able to successfully imp late. You would think I'am good at this but no idea. I just started reading as much as I can since I had a total of 5 miscarriages.
