Exclamation Get yourself to a doctor!

    Hi kjersi.

You may very well be pregnant. I don't want to scare you, but being pregnant with and IUD in place can be life-threatening. I hope this is not your situation, but it's important that you get yourself to doctor or a hospital ASAP to get your symptoms checked. I'm hoping that all goes well for you.

...And you can't locate the strings! I'm sorry that you had such an uncaring doctor. You should have been told about checking the strings when you had your IUD inserted. You don't know if it's been expelled from your uterus (which can happen without you realizing it), it may have shifted to another location in your abdomen...and I mentioned the possibility of being pregnant. You really do need to see a doctor (and not the one who inserted it). If you're in the U.S., maybe you can locate a Planned Parenthood or some other clinic where you can get medical care for a reduced fee. But even if it turns out to be nothing, wouldn't you want to know that? Your health is important.
