I also have been trying to concieve for over a year. My doctor told us after me and DH had all the tests done to try for another six months before he intervenes with drugs and such just because I am under the age of thirty. I am at a loss at what to do.

There are many many factors that can play a role in this. There is the obvious... are you both fertile or not? But some times there are other factors.

For example, did you know that if you have a hormone imbalance it can cause you not to ovulate? You can still have your periods and everything appears to be working fine, but you are actually not ovulating. I believe it is a progesterone deficiency which causes progesterone infertillity. This can be temporary and reversed, but can have serious long term effects if left untreated. This is fixed with hormone therapy and detrmined by taking a hormone panel.

Another thing to consider is if you have ever taken birth control in your life. Some birth control can extremely long term residual effects that can interfere with your abillity to have children. A good example of this is women who have taken Depo Provera contraceptive injection. They some times try for years and years before they finally get pregnant. It says right on the packaging that it takes at least 1 year to leave your system.

Other medications such as antidepressants can have an effect on your periods and hormones. You may want to consider that as a factor if you are taking anything.

Stress and health is also an important factor. We all know that stress can bring havoc on our periods making them irregular. It also directly relates to your bodies abillity to reproduce. Stress can basicly cause your body to reject pregnancy. This is some times why women will have miscarriages. Make sure you eat healthy foods, drink plenty of water, and keep a positive outlook on things.

I do believe that the rest all relys on your fertillity and time. Good luck!

I'm 24. We have already tried Glucophage W/ Clomid. I've done 6 rounds of that. Husband has had semen work-up. Nothing is working very good. Did you have help concieving your first child or did it come natural?

I am having problems concieving and I went to my OB Dr and found out my pergesterone levels were too low. I think it would be a good idea to see a Ob Dr. If you are having problems to run all the necessary tests. I am still tring to concieve and I actually had a misscariage at two months of pregnancy last summer. I am also taking Clomid to stimmulate ovulation.

    Thumbs up Great book

I tried to get pregnant for nearly 3 years with my middle child. My answer for you is to get the book "Taking Charge Of Your Fertility" by Toni Weschler. Go to amazon.com and get a used copy to save $$. I was pregnant the month after I got this book. It is very interesting. It even tells you when to conceive to have a boy or girl. Good Luck!!!!

Unhappy New at this... Trying to Conceive!

I have been on Depo Provera for almost 6 years. I already have 3 children. However, I am now back at a time in my life where I want to expand the family again. I know that Depo stays in my system for up to a year after you have discontinued useage. However, I am wondering if you can take fertility drugs to help speed up that process. I also know its better to wait until after you have regulated on your periods for less stressful situtations, but I dont want to wait, nor do I care too. Wondering if I am pregnant all the time, isn't fun, but I will take anything I can get right now. I know I am being selfish too, but, again, dont care. Can I take any tests to see if i am even fertal anymore? Can I speed up the process and help my body produce eggs again with fertility drugs? When should I start using my BBT Chart? I also know that just because you are having a cycle, that doesn't mean your body is producing eggs. So does that mean if I start taking the Ovulation Perdictor tests, they will also come back positive/negitive? When will I know, if I do this the right way, that my body is again producing eggs? I can play hit or miss, I guess I have been now for awhile. But now I am needing some answers. Please Help!

    Thank you!
