If you read a pregnancy kit box it will tell you not to take one until after your period due date to be sure it would be more accurate. Anytime after the due date is good enough. Although some women prefer to wait at least a week or two just in case their period is just late.

I believe that's true waiting at least 1 1/2 weeks would be a good indication and taking a test first thing in the morning is when the concentration of urine is the strongest.

If your urine is a dark yellow that means there is too much sugar, so talk to your doctor to test your blood to see whether your blood sugar levels are balanced.

This is a safe measure to keep in mind, and watch your alcohol levels too, this can screw up a test as well.

I am not having good luck with HPTs. The first time I was pregnant, I didn't even know it until I miscarried. I kept getting negative tests, so I assumed I wasn't pregnant.

Now, I'm having weird symptoms and my period is 3 weeks late. I have had 3 negative tests so far. I'm taking another this weekend, though. I don't have health insurance right now (not until December 1st, husband got a new job and we can't enroll until then).

I guess just keep checking every so often. If you don't get your period soon and do have health insurance, see your doctor. I know I would if I could. Good luck to you!
