Default Baked Tomatoes with poached eggs? breakfast?

Wow, I am a connesuir of food, i love food, can pile on 5k because i want to experiment, and then loose it in unfortunately 8 weeks, sometimes 6, but it's worth it to just try different foods.

I have 17 years from the Restaurant Industry predominately gourmet style food... sucks huh?

But I was watching a show and checking spam here, so (sad) I missed half of it but i did get to see the ending.

Basically, it was a tomato cut in half gutted like a fish... I assume 2 eggs put inside of it, then into the oven, or perhaps the tomato being 1/2 cooked first, may be a way I would try it, eggs don't take too long after all.....

Then she had cut the toast as fingers, and dipped them in egg, then covered ( smothered) in cheese, then cooked again in oil, crispy... warm.

Concept, imagine, dip the cheesy toast into the egg, and eventually cut, the tomato as well and eat all..

I have to say, tomorrow morning? I may but try this..

For those watching their weight, I can offer a baked tomato/ potato/ without all that fat, as a recipe, sorry.....

Sharing incase you go:-

I'm giving it a go.

Sound yummy! A thread of egg recipes is a good idea. I'd bet the tomato could be partially cooked to start but maybe not, maybe you want it a little firm? Instead of frying I'd bake the bread part, it could be just as crispy but without the extra fat - but then I just got some test results back and HDL is a little low, triglycerides a little high. Got to start watching it.

I love eggs that are baked, coddled, poached or boiled. I realized that at least here in the USA a lot of people truly don't know how to boil an egg. Soooo here how:
Fill a suitable sized pan with enough water to cover as many eggs as you want to boil, remember the eggs will displace some water. Bring to a boil.

While waiting for your water to boil use a metal toothpick (those turkey lacing spikes work great) to carefully poke a hole in the wider end of each egg. This isn't at all hard to do but do it over a bowl so if the egg has a thin shell and breaks you won't make a mess and can save it for baking. You want to just pierce the shell and not penetrate the membrane of the egg sac.

Place eggs in boiling water and set your timer. Your altitude will determine how long to cook to get the desireed doneness. I live at about 5400 feet above sea level and like a medium egg (soft, slightly runny yolk, firm white) that takes 7 - 8 mins but at sea level would be 4 minutes. I used to live at a 6800 ft and it took 10 mins, you may have to experiment for your altitude since cook books generally give times for sea level.

This is simple and once you get the hang of it your eggs can be exactly as you like every time. I also like to use my 6 egg poacher - perfect for my two kids and me.
