Bacon grease - yum! I keep a jar of it next to the stove. No, seriously.
Do you know how to make biscuits and gravy? I bet he'd just roll over and die if you made it for him Make a roux from the bacon or sausage grease, add milk and black pepper, let it get all gravied up, presto. You've got the best-tasting concoction on the planet. Takes a little practice though. It's probably the one thing I can cook that my sister can't.

You can make gravy from just about any kind of meat drippings and when I was a vegetarian I made a good gravy from vegetable stock. Biscuits are a big favorite at my house!

Ahaha, here we call that white sauce, seriously, he has made that for me, I think you could be right there Little, imagine if I produced it? lol,,...

Oh and buscuits I am still trying to get over that I took them shopping one day and showed them a packed of "buscuits" I can't recall now what you call them but, your buscuits is close to our scones, buscuits is what we dip in coffee and eat.

I can't believe you don't have Tim Tams over there, but hey, I have heard that soon you will have vegemite only they are going to add cheese in the mixture, (go figure) and then distribute to America and Japan, and see what you lot think, now that I would love to see, lol.

We can get Vegamite here from the health food store.
I make scones from unbleached, all purpose flour.
CW if you want I can teach you how to make killer American bicuits. I think what you are thinking of we call a sweet biscuit or a kind of cookie. I like the Marie Lu ones.

Cough no cough, lol.

Would you believe my flat mate made scones with sultanas last night? Seriously, and yessum, self raising flower she used..

I am in shock, Vegamite in USA? And, yes that's the word I was looking for "cookies"..

We have Tim Tam and I KNOW you don't have those, i checked, lol, chocolate "cookies" with soft chocolate centres, then covered in chocolate off course.

Don't know WC, I don't do desserts, I'm more of savory, or Entree/Mains person, I would more than likely stuff it up. Having said that, you don't know until you try, receipe and describe away when you have time and I will let you know how I go.

Thanks guys.

American biscuits are a quick bread. Kind of like an English Muffin. Very flaky on the inside and crisp on the outside. Not at all sweet unless you put jam on them.
