Here is a list of healthy options to eat for breakfast (argueably the most important meal of the day), provided to me by my Nutritionist... Sorry, I don't have the calorie count or anything, but rest assured these are low fat/low cal healthy meals.
BREAKFAST OPTIONS
If you like breads in the morning:
•1 slice sprouted bread (Ezekiel or Cybros), or whole grain bread
peanut butter (Parkers Farms is great) 1 tbsp., go organic if you can
Banana 1/2
Raisins, 1 tbsp.
1% milk, 1 cup
•1 slice sprouted bread (Ezekiel or Cybros), or whole grain bread
low-fat cream cheese, 1 tbsp.
Lean deli sliced ham, 4 oz.
HUGE handful of spinach leaves and sliced tomato
•1 slice sprouted bread (Ezekiel or Cybros), or whole grain bread
Low-fat Swiss cheese, 1 slice
Tomato, 1/2, sliced
•1 slice sprouted bread (Ezekiel or Cybros), or whole grain bread
peanut butter, 1 Tbsp.
Apple, 1
1% milk, 1 cup
If you like eggs in the morning:
•1 slice sprouted bread (Ezekiel or Cybros), or whole grain bread
scrambled egg whites 2
Mozzarella cheese, 1 slice
HUGE handful of Sliced mushrooms
HUGE handful of spinach
Fruit, 1 piece
Add salsa and salt and pepper to taste to egg whites for extra flavor!
•1 slice sprouted bread (Ezekiel or Cybros), or whole grain bread
Canadian bacon, 1 slice
Mozzarella or Provolone cheese, 1 slice
Egg white, 1, scrambled
If you like Oatmeal or high fiber cereal in the morning:
•Oatmeal, 1 c. prepared
Dried tart cherries, ¼ c.
Cinnamon, dash
1% milk, 1 c.
•High-fiber cereal, 5 grams of fiber or more per serving (like Kashi Go Lean) ¾ cup
Mixed berries, 1 c.
1% milk, 1 c.
Hard-Boiled Egg, 1
If you like yogurt in the morning:
•Apple, 1 cored and sliced, microwaved for three minutes and topped with:
Raisins, 1 Tbsp.
Almonds, raw, chopped, 1 Tbsp.
Walnuts, raw, chopped, 1 Tbsp.
low-fat vanilla yogurt, 4 oz. (Stonyfield farm is a GREAT brand, organic and reasonably priced)
•low-fat yogurt, 4 oz.
Banana, 1 sliced
1% milk, 4 oz.
Trail Mix, combine and mix into yogurt
Dried cherries, 1 Tbsp.
Slivered almonds, 1 Tbsp.
Sunflower seeds, 1 Tbsp.
•low-fat vanilla yogurt, 4 oz.
Walnuts, 2 Tbsp.
Berries, ½ c.
•low-fat vanilla yogurt, 4 oz
Fresh or frozen fruit, 1 c.
Kashi Go Lean Crunch cereal (or other high fiber cereal), ½ c.
