    Here are some good (and good for you) smoothie recipes to try! Enjoy!


    THERMOS READY SMOOTHIE

    INGREDIENTS
    • 1 cup(s) frozen mixed berries
    • 1/2 banana
    • 1/2 cup(s) apple juice
    • 1/4 cup(s) silken tofu
    ________________________________________
    Directions
    1. Combine berries, banana, apple juice and tofu in a blender; blend until smooth.

    BANANA PEANUT BUTTER SMOOTHIE

    Ingredients

    • 1 small (ripe) banana, cut in half
    • 1/2 cup(s) (low-fat ) milk
    • 1 teaspoon(s) creamy peanut butter
    • 3 ice cubes

    Directions
    1. In blender, combine banana, milk, peanut butter, and ice cubes; blend until mixture is smooth and frothy. Makes about 1 1/2 cups.

    BANANA COCOA SOY SMOOTHIE

    Ingredients
    • 1 banana
    • 1/2 cup(s) silken tofu
    • 1/2 cup(s) soymilk
    • 2 tablespoon(s) unsweetened cocoa powder
    • 1 tablespoon(s) honey

    Directions
    1. Slice banana and freeze until firm. Blend tofu, soymilk, cocoa and honey in a blender until smooth. With the motor running, add the banana slices through the hole in the lid and continue to puree until smooth.

    VEGETABLE SMOOTHIE (Tastes kind of like a Bloody Mary)

    Ingredients

    • 2 cup(s) tomato juice
    • 1/2 cup(s) chopped red bell pepper
    • 1/2 cup(s) peeled and chopped cucumber
    • 3 tablespoon(s) lemon juice
    • 2 tablespoon(s) chopped scallions
    • 2 teaspoon(s) Worcestershire sauce
    • 1/4 teaspoon(s) salt
    • 1/4 teaspoon(s) fresh-ground pepper
    • 1/4 teaspoon(s) hot-pepper sauce
    ________________________________________
    Directions
    1. Make the smoothies: Combine all ingredients in a blender and process until smooth -- about 3 minutes. Chill for at least 30 minutes. Fill 4 glasses with ice and divide the smoothie mixture among the glasses. Serve immediately

    BERRY BANANA SMOOTHIE

    Ingredients

    • 2 (small) bananas
    • 1 container(s) (8-oz.) plain low-fat, yogurt

    • 1 cup(s) (fresh or frozen) berries, raspberries, strawberries, blueberries or a combination

    Directions
    1. Combine all ingredients in your blender and purιe until smooth. Pour into 2 glasses and serve immediately.

    Ingredients

    • 1 avocado , peeled and pitted
    • 3/4 cup(s) orange juice

    POMEGRANATE BERRY SMOOTHIE


    Ingredients

    • 1/2 cup(s) chilled pomegranate juice
    • 1/2 cup(s) vanilla low-fat yogurt
    • 1 cup(s) frozen mixed berries

    Directions
    1. In blender, place juice, yogurt, and berries. Cover and blend until pureed

    HAWAIIAN SMOOTHIE

    Ingredients

    • 1 cup(s) chopped fresh pineapple
    • 1/2 cup(s) chopped peeled papaya
    • 1/4 cup(s) guava nectar,
    • 1 tablespoon(s) lime juice
    • 1 teaspoon(s) grenadine,
    • 1/2 cup(s) ice

    Directions
    1. Place ingredients in the order listed in a blender. Pulse three times to chop the fruit, then blend until smooth. Serve immediately.
    2. Ingredient Notes: Grenadine is a red syrup (originally flavored with pomegranate juice) used to color and flavor drinks . Look for it in the bar-mix section of your supermarket. Guava nectar is available in most markets, with the juices or in the Latin American section

    ORANGE-BANANA SMOOTHIE POP

    Ingredients

    • 1 container(s) (7-ounce) Greek yogurt
    • 2/3 cup(s) thawed orange juice concentrate
    • 2 large bananas
    • Zest of 1 lime
    • 1 tablespoon(s) fresh lime juice
    Directions
    1. Puree one Greek yogurt , thawed orange juice concentrate, bananas, lime zest, and fresh lime juice in a blender.
    2. Pour into six 3-ounce molds. (We used mini baking tins with Popsicle sticks, but you can also substitute paper cups.) Freeze until smoothie pops are solid, about 4 hours.
    3. To release pops, dip molds into hot water until pops loosen and slide out. If using cups, peel away paper.

    LAURA’S PROTEIN SMOOTHIE

    Ingredients
    1 scoop (about 20g) Pure Protein powder (vanilla)
    1c rice milk (sometimes soy)
    1c spinach
    1/2c cucumber
    1/2 banana
    1/2 apple (or pear, peach or sometimes berries, depending on what I have)
    1 tsp chia seeds


    Kristi’s Spinach Smoothie

    Ingredients
    1 whole banana bottom of the blender
    Fill blender with fresh spinach
    8 ounces of organic skim milk
    1 scoop vanilla whey protein
    1-2 cups frozen berries

    Blend Well
    Optional additions:
    1 TBSP Udos oil
    Flax seed
    Serves 2.

    I hope you enjoy them! I especially liked the Hawaiian, but I'm a big pineapple and mango fan, so it stands to reason. I don't make them tons because I don't have a very nice blender, but when I do, I make enough for like 4 servings and freeze the rest in individual containers for future use (comes in handy when you're on the run and don't have time to make breakfast lunch or dinner!)
