    Hi everyone,
Just had to share the amazing news that I CAN cook. lol.
I am proud to say that over the last two weeks I have succesfully made many delicious meals, the highlights being my first ever marinated steak and cauliflower and cheese in a white sauce.
The marinade consisted of barbecue sauce, oyster sauce, worcester sauce, coriander, smoked paprika and a cinnamon stick in the middle. It came out really nicely and I was really surprised haha.
The white sauce was made with flour, milk, butter, mixed herbs and white wine. I forgot to stir it constantly so it was a bit lumpy but after pouring it over the cauliflower, adding cheese and leaving it in the oven for a while it turned out great!
So yeah I'm proud to say that my culinary endeavours were well worth the effort and initial fear of screwing it up. Although in saying that I still manage to burn my cakes! LOL

Congratulations! Nothing like a successful dish to build up your confidence. Some of my first dishes were made in the slow cooker... Lots of neat recipes, very difficult to muck up.

Good for you!! Cooking can be a lot of fun. Experimenting around and coming up with new ideas is awesome!

Well done. I can remember very well that when I was first married (41 years ago!!) I didn't even know how long to cook frozen peas! Marinades and sauces were way beyond me. Keep experimenting, it can only get better.
