now that sounds delicious kmonte. thanks. gonna try it out!
A great way to get that fall taste you crave, in a healthier way than the ice cream and baked treats available this time of year
Servings: 2
Ingredients:
1/2 cup pure pumpkin puree (may be canned)
1/2 very ripe medium banana
3/4 cup fat-free vanilla yogurt
1 tablespoon honey (or less)
1/2 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup crushed ice
Directions:
1.) Place all ingredients in a blender and puree until smooth; making sure the ice is completely crushed.

I created the recipe in Calorie Count as well, so it is searchable in the Database. Grade of A, with one serving being 153 calories
It is high in sugar though, so something to consider for anyone watching their sugar intake! A nice treat, better than most desserts, but definitely not "meal" material!

that is awsome. not a bad calorie count for a nutricious snack. i will look it up on caloriecount. thanks
I'm not sure that I can get pumpkin pie spice here in NZ. Is there something I could substitute that would taste as delicious as this sounds with it? Can't wait to give it a go! Just had a blackcurrant smoothie so it will maybe tomorrow.
You can make your own pumpkin pie spice. It's just cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, and cloves. I don't know the ratio so you might want to do a quick internet search, but if you can find those 4 spices you'll be all set!

Thanks for that KM. I didn't have nutmeg and my banana wasn't all that ripe, but it tasted great anyway. It made a change from my usual fruity smoothies.
That pumpkin smoothie was just so good I thought I would ask if you had anymore different smoothie recipes up your sleeve KM or anyone else for that matter? Preferably using very ordinary foods. Love to try some more.
it certainly is delicious, snooks, who knew that nutrition could taste sooooo goooooood!!!!!!
Here's a link to another "smoothie" thread I made last year. There's several recipes to try here:
