remember that I came from the middle east, where the coldest day of the year won't reach 32 F .
so the winter here is extremely cold than I can't stand.
we are thinking to move to Georgia or Texas.
the weather in mi. is the same as where i live..the winter temperatures must be very difficult for you to adjust to..personally the cold weather does not bother me at all, but i prefer the warm weather..it is very difficult to chip and putt in the snow..

I would like to retire to a warmer climate after my children are grown.
My bones are getting too cold for this climate and California is Too expensive to live!

    WOw...Interesting heritage !
I teach undergrads in an Engineering school. My time if full, but nothing in the world is like sitting together on the dinner table with my family, we barely dine out.

    Default Happy Halloween!

    Happy Halloween!

Hope everyone has a Happy Halloween!

    What is everyone Doing?

Housewife, Will you be cooking your award winning
    meals and desserts?

And Dr. Mansview, what will you be doing. How is that sign on your Tombstone? Have the Graveyard Creatures visited your Tombstone Yet! LOL

I will take my children to a Halloween Party, they will go Trick or Treating with their friends,

and the extent of my cooking:

    1. Stuffed Orange Peppers (for Halloween), Green and Red Peppers,(for Christmas next month), stuffed with Rice, Cheddar Cheese, ground Turkey or Beef and: Cranberry,Raisins and various Nuts! It's fast and I usually top it off with Grated Parmesian Cheese and Spaghetti Sauce or Tomato Sauce.
I skillet the Turkey and or Beef first and then I stuff with everything, then I put into the oven just to get the Peppers soft, (not too over cooked)!

    2. Dessert: My children and I make Taffy or Carmel Apples!

    Happy Halloween!

    Hello housewife-

Mmmmm Mmmmm Mmmmm! You got some tasty looking eatables posted! I would join you in posting recipes but I don't measure when I cook and bake. I could only share ingredients and approximate measurements. That won't help anyone cook a thing. It's a shame because I have this really tasty homemade layered chocolate almond cake that I bake. Anyway you're recipes and illustrations look so GOOD! Yummy!
Life is a journey and I would not trade the journey for the knowledge! Be Blessed!!!

    Hi Dr. Mansview,

I know you're not a doctor. I'm just having some fun!

Anyway, as a child growing up in the Midwest, I recall many vacations driving with my parents and siblings from my home in Illinois/Indiana through Detroit, Michigan and then through Windsor, Ontario and to Niagra Falls on the boat ride through the falls. I Also visited Quebec, I really enjoy the French bakeries, French food, French Art, discos etc..

My dream vacation is to drive up to and visit Vancouver B.C. and take a cruise ship or fly to Juneau, Alaska (during the summers) not during the winters! (I currently reside in Northern California, it rains and is
    cold here all winter).

    Have you ever been!

    Gia[/quote]

i have never been to BC but have been to the other places you mentioned..niagara falls is one of my favorite places to go..i can stand and watch the falls for hours..and the "maid of the mist" boat ride is awesome..the best attraction there..as for favorite scary movies i go with "halloween" and "carrie" and the original "black christmas"..fav. tv special "it's the great pumpkin charlie brown"..i think that is the one you're refering to also..it's hilarious..sally steals the show..

    Dr. Mansview,

"It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown"...Yes, you are correct. I always forget the name, I knew it was Charlie Brown something.
