Well, I'd forget about the BBQ bit... Grill it, get some herbs, pepper it (both sides). Peppercorn sauce can be awesome with steaks. It never hurts to have some browned (fried) onion with garlic, or you could make garlic butter to put with it...
Roast potatoes would go quite well... paint them with butter and give them a few hours.... Aaah, I'm making myself hungry. |

Meat can taste pretty bland if you don't marinate it. I would mix up some Soy Sauce with some brown suger and maybe some wine (or beer) then tenderize the meat by hitting it with one of those meat hitting hammers. Then put the meat in a glass dish with the marinade and let it sit for an hour (or more)
Cut up half a stick of butter into pad and arrange it on a large piece of foil. Say a foot or two. (2 3rds of a metre?) and then Slice some potatos thin 1/4 inch, Cut some carrots (Half Inch?) and on top of the butter pads put the potatos down first. Salt and pepper. Then Layer on the carrots. Just do pepper no salt on the carrots or just a little bit. You can add a few more pads of butter if you like. You can put onions on top of that chopped how you like them. (Vidalia Onions from the deep south USA are the very best) then put foil over the top and fold it into an air tight package. You can cook peppers this way as well. They get a little gooshy. Place that on the top rack of the BBQ. Cook for 20 minutes then put your steaks on the bottom grill and cook them. You can paint on the Maranade Sauce from the pan. Even cheap pieces of meat taste great this way. Trim the fat off the edges but DO buy the meat that has Marbling. Life is short it greatly improves the taste. Good luck with the BBQ!
