Ingredients:
1/2 cup butter/margarine 1 onion chopped 1 (16 ounce) pkg frozen broccoli 4 cans chicken broth 1 (1 pound) velveeta loaf cheese, cubed 2 cups milk 1 tbsp garlic powder 2/3 cup cornstarch 1 cup water DIRECTIONS: 1) Im a stockpot, melt the butter/margarine over medium heat. Cook the chopped onion in the butter until the onion is soft. Stir in the whole bag of frozen broccoli, and then dump ALL of the chicken broth on top. Then simmer until the broccoli is tender (10-15 minutes) 2) Reduce heat, and stir in cheese cubes until melted, mix in milk and garlic powder. 3) in a small, seperate bowl, stir cornstarch into water until the cornstarch is completely dissolved. Stir into the soup; cook, stirring frequently, until thick. ** To make this soup fancier, add one cup of sliced mushrooms, and one cup of white wine with the onions. |
