Question It's Him or My Family!!!!

I have been with my boyfriend for 2 years now, we live together and we're the kind of couple that does everything, i mean EVERYTHING together.. like we're almost 24/7 and we're very much happy bout that firstly because we really love eachother and second i think its kind of the main support for us for everything we do, as we live far away from our homes...

its like he's from one country, im from other and we live in another, anyway, he is very lucky to have the opportunity to go and visit his family quite a few times a year, as his country is much closer that mine..

instead, in all the time that i've been in this country(4 years) i've only been home once last year.

As i obviously miss my family, we were planning to go to visit them for christmas but last month my boyfriend came with the news that his brother is getting married in Dicember..

Now, that means that he has to take time off from work to go to the wedding but he wont be allowed to be away that long to be able to come with me to visit my family(which he has already met).

For obvious reasons i can't expect him to choose my family over his brother's wedding.. so my problem is whether i should go by myself to visit my family and leave him alone for christmas and new years eve(we dont socialise much, so he will really be ALONE) or should i stay with him??????

I recently told my mom about the possibility of me not going home for christmas and she pretty much freaked out, first because it is going to be my 4th christmas away(im 20years old)!!! and also because she thinks im choosing my boyfriend happiness before mine which is not really true, as i wouldn't be happy if i know that my boyfriend, the person that i spend every day of my life with, is going to be all by himself on this special dates and i wouldnt be happy if i have to spend another boring, cold, dark, depressing christmas away from home.... i really dont know what to do

It's great that you two are inseperable or is it?

Go by yourself. He won't be alone he will be with his family and you with yours.

You have no independence everything revolves around your boyfriend and it shouldn't you should be able to go somewhere on your own and be happy in your company and so should he.

There are telephones call each other.

Learn to be on your own a little or else if this relationship breaks up one day you are going to suffer immensely because your not independent and reply on your time with him as 24/7.

I think he'll be okay if he's alone for the holiday, don't worry about him too much, you really should see your family. You don't get to see them often and it sounds like having you for Christmas is important to them. Besides, time apart from eachother now and then is good when you live together, it'll be refreshing and you'll be happy to see eachother again afterwards.

Also, I think it's important for both of you to socialize, even if you're both going out together and meeting new people and doing new things, you'll both end up making your own friends too. It's possible that there may be periods of time where you guys can't be together, and it's good to have other friends to focus on in the meantime.
