Once you get this done you need to have a letting go ceremony and a party. That can include purifying your space, burning a few reminders and letting the ashes go either in the wind or onto moving water. Send out invites to all those old freinds to come celebrate your re-emergence, dress up and have some fun!

That does sound like an excellent idea...and I would get my bed back down from my attic as I ended up sleeping on the futon w/ him in my living room since that's where we spend most of our time...I moved my single bed into my attic to make more room for him...blah...I miss my bed and my quiet bedroom with no tv on and no cigarette smoke!

You can reclaim your space. Maybe repaint the bedroom? Some new sheets and pillows?

Yeah I didn't repaint my bedroom when I did paint..I repainted the other room where we are the most...walls were horrible..but since I painted in April, I have had to patch 4 holes from him throwing things at my wall. Behind my tv is the worst where he pushed my tv and it caved in the wall behind the tv. At this point I'm going to have to actually cut a hole in the sheetrock and put in a new piece. It's beyond Spackle.

I know that I wouldn't have to clean as much! Maybe I can finally get the carpets clean too....
