I've liked this guy I mainly speak to online for years now. I've met up with him before and saw him about 2 months ago and had a great time. We've been talking more and more via text and talk for 4 hours on Skype some nights.
Whenever I've been single he's been dating someone and vice versa, but now we're both single. He's always been flirty and jokey with me - pretty much no boundaries to what we discuss!
The other day he stayed in town with his friend who has just moved to the country and on the last night we all went out together and they stayed at my house. When we were out I overheard his friend (gay guy) asking him if he thought I was sexy since he strokes my hair, hugs me, touches my bum cheekily etc. when we're out. He said yes.
Back at my house I showed them to their beds and he beckoned me into his for a cuddle. It started off just as a cuddle but he started kissing my neck. Pretty soon he was in my bed and we were kissing and fooling around. He said I was beautiful and special and other lovely things. Nothing more than that happened and we cuddled until we fell asleep.
The next day just he and I went shopping and throughout the day he put his arm around my waist, touched my hair etc. but no kissing. He's called and texted since he left, but I miss him!
I know he won't ever sleep with anyone unless he's in love with them, and I certainly wasn't expecting it, but I guess my question to ask is whether it seems like he's just taking things slowly and seeing how it goes, or whether it seems like he wanted a one off?!
I'm useless with reading how men feel about me and have been in a tizzy ever since. He makes my head spin around in an excellent way and I need external opinions!

flink in my opinion you have to let this guy go.

He was your first love, right? And, for 6 years when either is single that person gets in touch with the other but it's hours of flirting/talking and on this occasion a bit more physical.

In my opinion you are feeding his needs and that he is selfish. He's single, gets to hug someone, touch someone, play with their hair and emotions..Then when he has someone, you are no-one anymore...

To continue to have this "feeling" for him year after year after year, ruins your relationship with others and probably was the cause of you cheating on your ex, and eventually breaking up with him.

You always want what you can't have and that always has an element of excitement.
Do we not realise that in order to find a soul
    It doesn't happen over night
if truth were to be told.

Like everything in life that's hard to achieve
    you must believe!

It is nice to have someone like you, but also put yourself in those other girls' shoes. When he was dating them, he was still flirting with you and having no boundaries while talking to you. How would you feel if he did that with other girls while dating you?

It could be that he is drawn to you but does not want to damage the friendship/relationship with sex.
His plan may even be to resist you but he weakens.
Just imaging if you have a quick fling with him but then feel uncomfortable with chatting online with him of visa versa.
Will you feel the loss of a long term unconditional friendship?
