Congrats! I'm glad you were able to talk through the issue you were having and get it resolved!
here's to a long and happy marriage!!![]()
I posted a thread about a week ago saying how my boyfriend of three years was acting like a jerk for a few weeks, which was very unlike him. Thank you all for your feedback, encouragement, and advice. I talked to him and he took what I said to heart and made major changes. Whatever phase he was going through has diminished. He proposed on Saturday! He had been planning it for awhile. We're both very very happy.

~Today, any person can fight the battles of one day It is only when you and I add the burdens of those two awful eternity's- yesterday and tomorrow, that we break down. It is not the experience of today that drives people mad. It is the remorse of bitterness for something which happened yesterday and the dread of what tomorrow may bring.
Let us therefore, live but one day at a time.~
Congratulations, grace. Best wishes.

Thanks everyone! I love hearing engagement stories too, so here is mine! It wasn't anything extravagant - I didn't want anything extravagant - but it was perfect.
Our three year anniversary was on Wednesday, but we decided to wait til Saturday to celebrate because I had school Wednesday night.
On Friday night, he texted my best friend to see what they were doing on Saturday night. He wanted to propose in front of them so she could get pictures of everything, and he knew I wanted to be proposed in front of close friends as opposed to a bunch of strangers in a restaurant or something. On Saturday, I spent all day with her (she totally played it cool all day, I had no idea anything was up!) and she did my hair and make up for our date. On Friday she had invited us over for movies after our date. I said yes, thinking that sounded fun. I had no idea what the real plan was. It didn't cross my mind since we get together with them regularly anyways. She did my hair and make up, which she has done before since she does make up professionally. Ryan picked me up from her house and he and I went out for a nice dinner. He gave me an anniversary card in it he wrote, "I'm sorry I haven't proposed yet. I plan on it" We had our dinner, then we headed back to her and her husband's house. We were standing in the living room deciding what we were going to do, when Ryan walked up to me (he was standing at the stair case opposite me), kissed me and says, " I love you..I'm sorry I've waited so long to propose" At that point, I backed up in to the wall in shock and started to bawl. He got down on one knee and said, "I love you so much. Would you marry me?"
I was crying so much I almost forgot to say "yes" I didn't say "yes" til a few minutes after. My best friend got pictures of the whole thing. She had French silk pie (my favorite) and sparkling cider waiting. She also gave us some adorable engagement gifts. It was simple, but so sentimental.
All week, I had a feeling he was going to propose on Saturday, but after reading his card I totally ditched the idea. He threw me off all week asking "what do you want for our anniversary?" "I can't really afford a ring right now" "What do you want besides a ring?" etc...etc... Also, my talked me out of the idea that he was going to propose too. So many times I almost found by accident - including that text message I referenced in my previous post. He actually hadn't ended up buying that ring. The deal fell through. On Friday night, he had taken a picture of me so I wanted to send it to my phone. I picked up his phone to find the picture and text it to myself, when he snatches the phone out of my hand and goes, "DON'T LOOK AT THAT!!!" He said he has a picture of my gift on it. I dismissed it, because I knew he was asking one of his friends about a coffee brewer he has that he knew I wanted. I figured he had sent a picture of the brewer to his friend to see if that was a good brand or not. At that point, I figured I was getting a single-cup coffee maker (which I actually really wanted). Also, he had the ring hidden in a dress shirt pocket of his. On Saturday, I had taken that exact dress shirt out of the closet to iron it for him. He happened to have taken the ring out of that shirt just a couple of hours before I happened to take that shirt out of the closet. Yup, I'm a hard one to try to keep a surprise from. But everyone succeeded, and I was shocked.
