I agree with rosewater. Maybe something is troubling your man? Maybe try find out what? I think its a pretty ****** reason to take a vacation, especially knowing that you won't spend time together on your birthday.
This is only advice, but maybe you could try the opposite of what you're doing. Maybe go out with your friends more often and deliberately make yourself more unavailable for your guy. If he sees your around less, he may start to miss those times that you lie next to him while he plays his ****** games. He may start to realise that he should make the most of your presence?
But definately talk to him and see whats bothering him. Good luck! xo

You know this sounds like almost the same thing i was going through. I have been with my boyfriend for some time now and we have lived together for about 2 1/2 years.... i guess it was last year at some point i was complaining about the SAME EXACT stuff... not holding me when we are going to sleep.. always playing that D*** xbox game... me jusdt not getting enough attention.. but what i learned was I guess all men get like that because like one of the women said... he's already got the girl. I still couldnt put up with that though I just felt lonely when i was around him. I started complaining to him all the time turned into a real B**** you could say but that made things worst.. We were on the verge of breaking up... but we sat down had no lie a three hour conversation about what was going on.. turned out he was somewhat depressed. We also discussed things that we both did that needed fixing and the promise that we would work on things.. we've been great ever since. If it is depression though you should watch out for that because that depresion problem came up last year and he turned worst this year we went and got him some help.. and now i really feel like ive never been as much in love with him as I ever have..
oh ya and P.s. doing the gaming thing with your man really helped me.. we have a lot more to talk about now that we both play lol

    Good luck

    So now he's settled in.

Ever tried joining him in a game or two?

    Exactly! Good point!

I've been married for many years, and I used to get just as sick of a basketball, football, baseball or hockey game! Even golf and tennis got on my nerves!
But, Kira, guess what? I sat down WITH my husband to see what it was he got out of the game.
I wound up enjoying the games myself!

Now I watch all the sports just about... and will sit there and shout and scream at the tv in a minute! I'm crazy about a hockey game (not surprising, seeing that I used to play that when I was a kid).

Anyway, you want him to "come to you" and treat you in a certain way; how about you stepping into the game console and asking him to show you how to play.
That way, it's more like you're a bit interested in his hobby and not so wrapped in what you want all the time.
He may just come around and do what you've been asking him to do.
why did it take you so long jubes to get into sports..michigan has my favorite sports teams of all; the tigers, the pistons, the wolverines, the red wings, the lions, (ok,forget the lions)..the point is you compromised and it worked out for you..kira's man sounds like a hard nut to crack..

    LOL Doc!

I've never liked watching the games, but I've always enjoyed playing the games myself! I grew up in sports-- a lot of them!

But, I HATED it when my dad would turn from my cartoons to his darn sports! That just shut me down from wanting to watch sports.

Early on in my marriage, I'd just go in another room and watch something else, but I sat down --- just out of curiosity --- and starting watching all the college ball games--March Madness (The Wolverines, the Spartans their hockey games... even the CFL!!! LOL

I do love the Red Wings, though Doc... the Tigers are doing the thing! I just hate the traffic when I'm leaving work; otherwise, I do check out the Pistons, the Wolverines and the Spartans.

The Lions haven't caught on since Barry Sanders left...

But, yeah, Doc... Kira's b/f is depressed. I hope he gets help.

actually i'm not a red wings fan, but they are always a competitve team..but the tigers and pistons rock..your'e right about the lions though..even thought the lions had bad teams a few years back, barry sanders was worth the price of admission..(p.s.) even i can't watch the CFL..

    LOL, Doc!
But did you see the Lions ACTUALLY come out and WIN A GAME???

    I was lookin like... and
They barely won though... just like the Lions. Need to give that team a new name; more like the Skunks 'cause they stink 99.99% of the time.

    Default go "skunks"

the "detroit skunks"..that's not bad..most teams are named after animals and i've never heard of anyone calling their team the "skunks"..i can see 50,000 fans yelling "you guys stink"; hey what do you expect we're called the "skunks"..it would lower the fans expectations because every year we think could this be the year? (p.s.) see you later jubes, going to boyne golfing for 4 days..i haven't been there for about 10 years now and really looking forward to it..finally my canadian dollar is worth something..
