Default what happened?

About three months ago I met this man at work. I would see him from time to time during the day. He would stop and say hi when he saw me and sometimes engage in casual conversation. We would talk about our families, things in the news, etc. Then one day I noticed he was seeking me out to talk to me. This bothered me a little because he is married but I didn't want to read anything into it. After all, he never gave me any reason to believe he wanted to pursue a relationship outside of work. Then one day. in the course of our conversation, he said something about getting together. He didn't use those exact words, but the idea was the same. He invited himself to my house. I must have looked shocked because he quickly said we would talk about this the next day . He said "see you tomorrow friend" and walked away. From that day on, he has avoided me whenever possible and when he can't he looks at me and walks away.He no longer speaks to me at all. What happened?

well maybe he got embarrassed or he realized it wasn't right what he had said. I really do think he is probably embarrassed. Maybe he will start talking to you in a bit if he wants to be your friend. I really dont think you should worry too much about it

Good it turned out this way,
I agree with Steph, he can't dare to look into your eyes

it seems that this man wanted something from you,
if his intentions were normal, he would have invited you and your family to his house to meet his family.

ALWAYS keep your relationship with your male coworkers very professional.

Now Act like he is invisible.

Exclamation he's married!!!!!

Maybe he was scared because he realizes he shouldn't be doing what he's doing since he's a married man, and that look on your face really got his attention! That doesn't mean he shouldn't acknowledge your presence and not speak to you, it just means that it shouldn't go any further into your "friendship". You probably should be happy in a way, I mean yeah you liked having conversation with him but I wouldn't want a realationship with someone who's trying to cheat on his wife, who's to say he won't do the same with you?!!? Next time you see him, just smile and wave...just don't lead him on.
Good Luck!

thanks for your responses but now this has taken a new twist. I have been told that he is asking others at work why I am not talking to him anymore.(I said hi to him a few days ago and he ignored me) What is going on? This is making me angry. I want to confront him and ask him what kind of game he is playing. Should I?

I think he is playing a game and if you confront him on it it will be exactly what he wants. Continue to be civil; continue saying basic "hello"s and ignore it when he asks others about you. You're doing the right thing

what a jerk?

No , of course no don't ask him anything

I said to you to act like he is not even there,
don't bother about his existence.
ignore him totally, you said hi and he ignored you

if you were asked by other women why you are not talking to him, you should say
"I am acting normally , I respect all of my coworkers I never even noticed that I don't see him, if he says hi I will say hi as well ..???. "

don't give this issue more than its size
don't let other workers talk about the two of you, rumors could start
the point is show others that you don't ignore him, and if that happened you did not mean to, and that you don't run to others to say hi.
