Angry My boyfriend has money issues... what to do?

My boyfriend has recenty bought a house.. his very first house! He is 24yrs old and moved out of his mother when he was 18 and was living in a trailer. After being together for a year we thought we should get a house together.. and that he needs to get out of a 25yr old trailor. He has an ok job for not graduating from Highschool.. he makes about 16 dollars an hour.. so he got approved for a pretty desent house. I was rly proud of him, and thought that he was growing with a new life and i was happy to be with him. Well i was talking to his mother a couple days after getting the house and she told me " you should take all his bills and do them for him". Honestly to me that is rediculous to help a 24 year old man with all his bills... I have my own to wry about! So I let him do it by himself... well guess what he payed for one month of his mortgage and then stopped paying for 4 MONTHS!!! He didnt even tell me until 4 months later and last month he got a 5,000 dollar loan and spent it all.. and he is about to loose his house!!! He spent all this money and I dont know what to say.. i just want to help him.. even though im angry and all he says is " IM ******".. what can i do.. he doesnt understand! I dont know how to tell him that he cannot do that...

You don't say what he is spending his money on. If he just miscalculated, or was mislead by the lender he may simply not have enough income to pay for the house, and he needs to get out. If so, please support him. It is very difficult to admit that you simply can't affort the type of life you would like.

If he is wasting the money on unnecessary expenses, then that is a different problem.

I'm sorry, but this sounds like a bad situation. He seems to be too immature to manage his money and to have no sense of priorities. I'd get out. I don't think talking will help.

very sorry.

WOW!!!

I guess that's why his mother said, "You should take all his bills and do them for him."
The best thing for you to do now is move out of that house, before they repossess it.
Your b/f has really messed up the finances... like RCorey said, he's not mature enough to handle a house and all the responsiblities that go with it.

He's going to look back on this and wish he'd handled things differently. This will affect him more than he realizes.
