Sometimes bacteria in the vagina is motioned into the urethra by the penis. Causing the UTI. An antibiotic can be taken right after sex but you need to see your doctor. Then ask your doctor about your boyfriend. Sorry that's all I know.

UTIs are caused by bacteria getting into the urinary tract and your body's defences not being able to fight it off. Sex is a common cause of UTI which can occur in both men and women. The key is to always make sure that you keep both yours and his genital areas clean, as well as your hands and any toys that you use. It is typically uncommon for people to spread UTIs from one person to another. Sex is usually not a good idea if you have a UTI anyway because it can cause further irritation for you.

a good way to try to keep from getting a UTI is to pee right after sex if you can. It helps wash out any bacteria that has been pushed into your urethra from sex.
