Default another libido question

I read some other posts but I think I have bit of a different situation. I used to be, well, very horny to say the least. Then about a year and a half ago I went on the birth control pill and it killed my libido pretty much completely. That seems to be a common side effect, however after I stopped taking it about 2-3 months later, I haven't been my normal self since. I mean I am better than when I was on the pill, I still have desire sometimes, but no where near how I used to be. I have read a study that says it can be permanent; quote:

A team of researchers are Boston University have found that the use of hormonal contraceptives increases the level of sex hormone binding globulin (SHBG) - a protein produced in the liver that lowers testosterone levels, thereby reducing sexual drive and that this increase was still found in women who had stopped taking the pill for a year.

The team's research leader, Dr Claudia Panzer, an endocrinologist at the Boston University Medical Center, said the study indicated that the loss of libido might not be reversible. "It is important that when doctors advise women to take oral contraception that potential side-effects, including loss of sexual appetite and arousal, are pointed out. If, as our study suggests, the Pill can cause a long-term or permanent loss of libido, that is something women need to be made aware of."

The researchers studied the use of the pill on 124 women at a sexual dysfunction clinic. Those who continued taking the Pill had four times the normal SHBG levels of women who had never taken it. Those women in the study who stopped taking the pill at the beginning of the study still had twice the normal level of SHBG after a year.

I am afraid this is what has happened to me!?

I guess I've come here to see if there is advice on how to boost libido again. If the reason is what I quoted above, then it would be a hormonal problem? I've tried doing google searches about it but I'm only led to sites advertising products, and well I don't believe any of them...I can't seem to find a site with real information about it. I would really like to be my old self again, and I'm sure my bf would too, which he never got to experience because I got on the pill before we got intimate!

In large part it's all head stuff but hormones do regulate darn near everything. I can't give give much of a list but you can do some research on foods that increase you estrogen levels and reduce those in your diet, soy is one. Then up the testosterone encouraging foods such as red meat (steak is better than ground, rarer better than well done). Did you know that your body will absorb testostrone from your man's cum? Yep, you can look that up too. So the more sex you have the more your testoetrone levels will increase! It isn't a lot but every little bit helps. Giving him more oral would be a nice way to get there and keep a smile on his face, work on geting into it mentally.

Here's another tidbit, your brain can't tell the difference between a lie and the truth. So start telling your yourself how sexy you feel, how horny you are. Speak it as a fact, no iffy language. Self talk yourself into it. Work on getting a constant state of low level arousal that can be fanned into total horniness. Do kegels, get a Kegalmaster, that 3 times a day inner muscle work out will work wonders and it will help you focued on your . Then check out Mama Gena, see what she has to say about keeping your focus on fun and keeping it all focused on . You can get it back and then some! We all cycle, you can control it quite a bit. Good luck!
