You can tell men from boys by the way they behave toward women.

These are boys. Their age doesn't matter. Anyone who has such disrespect for women and acts like that is a boy. I used to play WoW as well. I played it for 3 years. Now I play Guild Wars. A lot of it has to do with maturity of players. Since WoW is more cartoonish, you're going to get the younger crowd. I have had the same comments when I played WoW that you are getting. Guild Wars has those people, too, but they are fewer.

I am starting to wonder if WoW is going to bring on the end of the world :P I've heard, read, and witnessed so many bad things come out of that game. It's a good game, yes, but it's so addicting. Plus, the internet makes people act like a-holes sometimes, especially younger boys. They think they are invincable because of the anonyitmity of the internet. Put them on ignore. Pretty much the only way you can do anything about it. Report them, too. Maybe Blizzard will ban them if they get reported enough (that's a big if).

I remember when I worked in a video game section of a video store. We sold games and consoles and did trading, as well as renting them out. Well, I had a phone call one day, and the guy on the other end said, "It's cute that you think you can work with video games, but I want to talk to a guy." I was so mad that someone would be so rude. So I gave the phone to the guy working with me, because I didn't want to deal with him anyway now. Turns out it was a PS2 problem, and the guy I was working with did not know the answer. But I did So this a-hole that called did not get an answer to his question, and I laughed.

Is there not an 'ignore' or 'block' option?

Ive never played this game (thank goodness), but if someone was being derrogative towards me, id give them a piece of my mind... its quite likely that these boys are mentally retarded, so id throw words at them that they wouldnt understand.

Just verbally pommel them into the ground, make them feel small. Ask them if their mummy knows that they are online...

...probably not the best advice... but thats what id do...

Just practice your NON-RESPONSIVENESS skills. I have taught many men and women this very skill and it works great for them.

Ever hear the expression "Don't feed ignorance." That means that these people feeds of *ANY* response, even a negative or flaming one. Therefore the best way to deal with a them is with SILENCE.

In a forum, a game, or even in real life.

Just think if you saw someone that made a statement that you didn't agree with or really add any value, nor did it ask a constructive question, and it sat there in pure lonely isolation, while the rest of us all went about our business, laughing, and having a good time? That would take the air out of it's balloon, wouldn't it? That person would be more likely to discontinue operations on it's own accord, and then try looking for reactions elsewhere?

Have you ever said something to someone and they just ignored you? How did you feel? Like an outcast right? They will feel this much more then you telling them off.

Only a person with low self esteem will attack another's, because as the old saying goes "Misery loves company"

    Remember:

"The only power someone has over you is that in which you give"

    Hope this helps
