No need to feel embarassed, those doctors look at vaginas of all sorts all day long. And many women don't do any shaving or even trimming there. Someone posted just the other day with the exact opposite fear. She was shaved and worried what the gyno's would think of that. I am sure they have seen some outrageous things, their whole day is seeing vaginas. They don't think of it like we do, have no fear.

Im sure they wouldn't be bothered about seeing your downstairs in its natural condition, after all that's how their supposed to look

Wow...I wish I didn't have to stay "maintained" down there. Think of how much time that would save. haha

Hopeless Dork is right. Doctors really don't care. I think they are concerned if you DO shave your vagina for fear that you will cut yourself in a bad spot.

As the others said, your Gyn see's the goods allllll day long. Big ones, little ones, hairy ones, shaved ones, dirty ones, clean ones, ones with neat little trim jobs, etc etc. You're naturalness is normal, don't fret.

I went through this. Guy I was with for 5 years wanted me shaved......then he decided he wanted a little "landing strip". The next guy I was with didn't like me shaved at all.....wanted natural hair, as bushy as possible. After 5 years of being shaved or trimmed, it was very hard for me. I felt quite insecure as no matter how much the hair grew, he didn't want me to trim it. Then, I found out he was cheating, and since have decided that I will be how I want to be. Shaving every day was excessive, but having a monster bush made me feel insecure. So I've found a happy medium and you better believe I won't be changing myself to suit anyone again unless he wants to change himself to suit me.

Being "natural" seems to be coming back in style a bit. I'm sure your doctor has seen it all, shaved, natural, dyed, mohawked, shaved design.

If by chance you had an idiot doctor that thought it weird that you are natural, you would want to find a new doctor. It's your body, and your sexuality. You do what works for you, and he/she should understand that.

    Default I feel ya...lol

I too prefer to be shaven, my fiance could care a less either way, it's just personal preference. However I am expecting my second child, my due dates tomorrow Point being I havn't been able to see my genitals in quite sometime, which makes shaving a tad bit tricky to say the least lol...But last week at my OB appointment I was rather mortified before the Doc came in...So to lighten my own situationI explained I couldn't even see my genitals and I asked how common it was for women not to shave. He explained it like this " I treat women from puberty until they are senior citizens...I've seen everything from bare to hair even crazy designs and patterns"
I can't imagine 92 year old women all shaving...lol..but if it really bothers you explain the situation to your S.O. after all hair grows back

I don't think you should worry about this. Being natural is not weird.

lol the thought of shaving never even crossed my mind until I was 25 and my boyfriend asked me to (I thought it was the weirdest request ever). I later found out that lots of women apparently shave. Yeah... sex and anything related was never discussed in my house growing up - I'm still trying to catch up with the rest of the world... My poor boyfriend has had to teach me pretty much everything. So no you wouldn't be weird going to the doctor without shaving. I did that far too many times!
