Thread: idk what it means

Ok. so i've been in love with my best friend for four years now. hes the best person i've ever met and all that jazz. but last night he told me that he was bi. (i was the first person that hes told) which is cool because i am also but right afterwards he asked me if i would be his girl friend. which i have been waiting for him to ask for a very long time but it just seemed strange to me that he would ask me this right after telling me somthing like that. idk if its just me but yea..

now, Im glad that he asked you to be his girlfriend. But it sounds to me that you need to figure out the boundaries...is it an "open" relationship?
The fact that he confided in you is GREAT, take pride in it. You two are well on your way to a great relationship. TRUST IS A MUST!

i know i've got to trust him and i do. but ever sence he told me i cant stop thinking that i'm just a cover for him you know? because all of his friends are completely homophobic which is kind of sad. but like if he has a girlfriend then no one would find out that he does have feelings for men.

okay....this is just a suggestion, but I think you should talk to him about it. ASK him just how he feels, ask him if you are a coverup, and tell him how you really feel about him. And if he says he really does like you...trust him.
ask him just what he has "experienced" and such.
I have to ask, just how old are you both?

ok so we talked for like 3 hours last night and we got everything out.
i suggested to him that maybe i was just like a cover up for his friends, and that if i was then i wasn't gonna be mad, i would just like to know so we could find out what to do.
and he just laughed and said that just because he was bi didn't mean that he couldn't love a girl and not a guy. and apparently hes partial to girls.
which made me feel so much better about the whole situation
i dont see why i worried about it so much. i know hes not gonna cheat on me, lol.
