    Default Is this normal?

    Well, I'm not very educated on sex. I know my mom likes to believe she taught me enough, but not really. And I'm too afraid to talk to my parents about these things.

    I've only recently gotten in touch with my sexuality. I'm only 20. Never had a boyfriend. Never had sex with anyone other than myself (but have been curious about it since I was...maybe 16 or 17). I do masturbate very frequently. I used to pleasure myself maybe once or twice a week. But over the past 2 years it seems my sex drive's gotten higher. Now I feel horny nearly 24/7. Even the slightest sexual thought can get me very horny. It gets really annoying to be in the car or train with family and have some thought just pop into my head and I get horny from it. Family vacations get a little uncomfortable 'cause of that 'cause I can't do anything about it...^^;

    I just don't know how much is too much. I can barely go through a day without masturbating upwards of 3 times a day. I can do my best to ignore it, but sometimes I'm just so horny that I can't concentrate until I pleasure myself. And even when I've finished masturbating, a few minutes later, I'll be horny again.

    I like being aroused and masturbating, but I don't know if it's too much. How normal is it to be horny nearly all the time?

    i think your body just needs sex, if you're 20 and haven't had sex yet. That's my best guess.

    Perhaps it does, but I don't think I'm actually ready to have sex just yet, mentally and emotionally that is. I can't say that I haven't thought quite a bit about it, but it's not something I think I'm ready for...

    I agree, I think your body is very ready for sex and it's perfectly natural. If you are not ready emotionally or mentally, that's probably only that you have not found the right partner yet.

    I think if you do not feel ready yet, but your hormones are making you crazy, then you need to do as you are doing, masturbating to relieve your cravings.

    If you do have a partner then you can certainly get hot and heavy with them without having to have full-on sex, although explaining that you don't want full sex beforehand would be a good idea.

    If things get worse and it starts affecting your work and your life negatively then maybe you should seek professional advice. Or just have sex!

    Thanks for the advice!

    I find all these feelings fairly new to me (since it's a side of me I've only started exploring within the past year...yes...that's still pretty new to me...^^; ), so sometimes I find it a little awkward. ^^;

    yea you need sex!!!! with a man, not yourself!! There's a complete diffrence between sex with yourself or toys. It just doesn't compare to sex with a mans body touching yours and the intiment bond. Sex was created for that reason. The sexual bond and pleasure. although with masterbating you always finish first!!

    I do realize that sex and masturbation are two completely different entities. However there are two things that have to be in mind...

    1) You actually need another partner for sex. XD I don't have one just yet. I don't have the confidence in myself to just go out and start dating anyone. And I just couldn't go out and have sex with anyone just because my hormones are driving me crazy.

    and...

    2) There is an emotional component with sex. So yes, my body is ready for it, but I'm fairly emotionally unstable right now (that's a whole other subject). So right now, I don't feel I'm ready for sex because of that...

    Yesebel, there is nothing wrong with being horny a lot. Nothing at all. I don't think your body "needs sex". Orgasms are Orgasms and women don't orgasm every time they have sex in most cases, and generally orgasm every time they masturbate. So I don't really believe that is going to make things worse or better if you ran out and grabbed a partner for sex. Its not like oh wow your body had a penis in it so now all your desires are satiated.

    There is never a too much on pleasuring yourself as long as its not interfering with your life. If you are unable to work or go to school or have time for friends and family because it interferes with your masturbation, then its a problem.

    Thinking about sex a lot , normal. Masturbating a lot when you have the free time, why not? There's worse things you can be doing with your time than exploring your body and giving it relaxation and pleasure.

    I most definitely have too much free time (with me not having a job or being in school for the summer...and not having being able to hang out with my friends too much 'cause they all are either taking summer classes or have a job...), so I tend to think about sex too much. ^^;

    Taking care of your bodies needs as they arise, or just entertaining yourself when you are bored is the smarter approach then looking for some new guy to have sex with every time the urge hits. You are doing the right thing waiting for the one you connect enough with to feel ready, like I said sex is hit and miss anyway depending on the partner you have and his desire to please you.
