Unhappy Can Fibroid tumor effect sex drive?

I am dealing with having a fibroid tumor as of November that was the size of a softball at that time .... There is NO pain during intercourse, but I cannot have an orgasm and have NO sexual DRIVE AT ALL. I was guessing it has been the change in my antidepressant medication, but I have been thru that before and know that eventually goes away and settles itself out and I could have orgasms eventually, but this has been really aggravating. I am scared it is going to effect my relationship with my husband soon. So.......does anyone know about the fibroid tumor? After the 1st of the year, I am going to make another appt. and see if it has grown and decide on my options. I do not want a hysterectomy, I am 36 and have no kids, which is a whole other "infertility" story.....so........does anyone have advice? Also, heard about the new testosterone patches for women? Anyone know about that? thanks!!!!!!!!!

I do not know for certain if tumors can effect sex drive. I suppose it could be possible, but I would be more suspicious of your anti-depressants. They are known for causing decrease in sex drive and inabillity to orgasm. It usually says this on the labeling. Remember that each brand may effect you differently then others so what you experienced before may not be the same with a new drug. Differences in dosages will have an effect as well.

Age and natural hormonal changes can also cause a decrease in sex drive. Or, changes in lifestyle or personal image. Stress will kill your sex drive all by itself. No doubt you are stressed from the tumor. The more you worry, the harder your sex drive will crash.
