Default He has no sex drive, is it me?

My husband and I have been married for almost 2 years now. We were dating for a two years prior and were talking of marriage and children when, supprise, I got pregnant with our son. During the pregnancy I had gainded 80 pounds!! Since then my husband, now 29, has no sex drive. He claims that its because he has a new found respect for me and that he has no intrest in sex at all. I don't think that he would lie to me about this, but I often wonder if its because of the weight I have gained that is turning him off. We went from about 3 times a week to 1 every 2-3 months. Its driving me crazy. I am new at marriage and well serious relationships (he's my first true love) and I don't know how to explain how it makes me feel or try and get him to explain how he feels? Any suggestions

Have you asked him how he feels about your weight? I mean, have you sat down and had a real heart to heart discussion about it? I would say that should be the first step. Let him know it's ok to be honest with you about it. Many men are programmed to not say anything that might hurt your feelings. Of course, it's possible he does feel that way, but he might not feel that way. The only way you will know is if he is open about it.

If that really is how he feels, you don't feel he is being honest with you, and you can't get any progress talking about it, then you and him are going to have problems. Because you can't go on stressing about it. It will just cause more problems with your relationship. If you are uncomfortable with the way you look, then you should work on getting yourself to a comfortable weight... but do it for yourself.

Keep in mind that men go through sex drive changes just like women do and there are many causes for it. It could be due to a hormonal change, stress, personal conflicts, or an unseen health problem.

If he continues to assure you that it's not your weight, then ask to to see his doctor about it. Often times they can get to the bottom of it and do something to help.
