could they be skin tags? i have been with the same sexual partner for nearly 4 years now, and my sister has genital warts. my partner discovered around my anus area what we thought was ripped skin or skin tags...i went to get it checked out yesterday, come to find out its genital warts. my partner has no signs at all. however the doctor said you may get them frozen, burnt, or cut off. you can use a cream that could take god knows how long...or eventually your body will build up enough immune system to take care of that, but that could take even longer.
Original Poster posted this in another thread, hense this thread and why she posted it, there is an obvious concern for her and she's done her research as a result.

I am now wondering how this occured?

    Hi,

Genital warts affect the moist tissues of the genital area. Warts occur as bumps or growths.

Most genital warts outbreaks are dangerous. However, if they have been diagnosed then episodic and suppressive antiviral therapy can be administered to cure them. Small fluid-filled blisters may occur, which can be very painful. With the first infection they can even take around 2 to 4 weeks to heal properly. When HPV infection remain for too long term, gives the indication of genital wart.

Banana skins and Apple Cider vinegar will work on all warts.
Banana skins are a bit quicker working- tape a piece of banana skin to the area.
ACV- use on a cotton wool ball.
Also take ACV in water daily.
These methods both use high potassium levels to kill the warts.
More info on Earth Clinic. Good luck

I've heard green tea and ozone work pretty well as genital warts treatments. However, I'm no doctor so maybe get them diagnosed first.

Genital Warts are also misdiagnosed a lot. The body naturally has its own bumps and shapes on it. Often times unless the person as not only seen lots of genitals but touched lots (This sounds weird but is true) they can confuse warts with ingrown hairs or natural occurances. So some people I know have been "diagnosed" 3 or 4 times when they see different nurses or doctors and each time the spot is frozen and each time the diagnoses is withdrawn.

So here is my experience....I do not have genital warts but when I was in college I had a major freak out.

First off, I have always shaved down there. Secondly I was extremely stressed out over college and breaking out everywhere majorly (birth control pill and stress = bad combo for my skin!). And last, I'm a picker. Bad habit I can't seem to get rid of. It's a texture thing, idk.

I used to get ingrown hairs down there a lot, not down low but a little bit below the hairline. I don't exactly remember how this bump came about, all I know is I started picking at it everytime I took a shower. One day I started getting bigger and very stubborn. Months went by and I tried my best to not touch it but eventually I had convinced myself it was a genital wort and pretty much freaked out. I finally got the courage to go to my obgyn. Because I picked at it for so long, he couldn't really tell what it was, except he knew it did not look like genital worts. I was still doubtful cuz I had totally convinced myself thst this was the worst possible thing.

I had a choice to either treat it with topical medicine, biopsy it and do the topical treatment, or just cut it completely off and send it in just like a biopsy. I chose to cut it off. I didn't want anything to do with it, wanted it gone as soon as possible! Cutting it off was the worst experience ever. I laid there and cried as my dr put numbing shots in my vajayjay area. My boyfriend, who is my husband now, was in the parking lot waiting for me. I sooo wished he was there to hold my hand. I could feel the scalpel carving away and I felt the stitches, could feel warm liquid flowing down towards my butt then go cold.
I was pretty much in full panic attack at this point, crying uncontrollably. My dr finished and told me it was all good, hardly any blood. When he left I got up and I had bled everywhere! Blood all over the place, I almost fainted. It took me a long time to get myself together before I opened the door.

After all that I had pretty much convinced myself I was dirty, I was extremely depressed, humiliated and felt like I had just been totally mutilated in the dr office. I called and told my mother about it. She was able calm me down and convince me to wait for the lab results before I did any more self-bashing.

Got the results back and it was nothing. Absolutely nothing! Dr said it was most likely just an ingrown hair and by me picking at it so much, it just got to the point to where it was having a hard time healing.

Boy was that a HARD lesson! I'm glad I got it cut off even though that was a horrible experience, it gave me the full assurance that it was gone and will never come back. I see the scar every day and am reminded of how easy it could have been to be in the. STD statistic. I feel absolutely sorry for those who have any kind of STD. I was very lucky and never should have worried since my boyfriend and I were only with each other, but your mind is a powerful thing and I was totally convinced It was the worst.

Moral of the story: it's better to be safe than sorry, don't assume the worst, and don't pick! I feel like I had a small glimpse of what it would have been like to have genital worts and my experience was bad enough! Thankfully my husband was a great support through it all.
