When I was in my youth, back in the dark ages, we weren't much concerned over social diseases (STDs/STIs hadn't been invented yet). Condoms weren't much used that I was ever aware of (I was fairly active). Most young women used the pill, there weren't a whole lot of options but they seemed to work pretty well. The pregnancy rates were lower and the few I knew who got pregnant weren't using anything.

I certainly understand the need to be safe from disease, that's a biggie for me, but I don't understand why BC seems to be such a problem. Are these newer pills less effective? What's up with this? We had pills, diaphrams, condoms, IUDs, sponges (a little later on), I didn't know of anyone who felt a need to use multiple methods. I'm baffled.

May the fleas of a thousand camels infest the crotch of the person who screws up your day and may their arms be too short to scratch.
    Amen

Whoever said anything was possible obviously never tried slamming a revolving door.

n.n Castration is indeed an effective means of birth control. Many cultures have been using it for centuries. Eunuchs made particularly good harem guards, since the women were safe from them. It's actually an interesting topic of study, if you'd like to read up on it.

I don't really see that pulling out is needed if you're using condoms while on birth control. In fact, unless you're careless about taking your pills, or you are on medication that could affect the effectiveness of the pill, I don't see the point in the condoms either. But going with two out of three, if you still end up pregnant I think maybe the fates just wanted you to get pregnant, the chances are so slim at that point.
