When I was in my youth, back in the dark ages, we weren't much concerned over social diseases (STDs/STIs hadn't been invented yet). Condoms weren't much used that I was ever aware of (I was fairly active). Most young women used the pill, there weren't a whole lot of options but they seemed to work pretty well. The pregnancy rates were lower and the few I knew who got pregnant weren't using anything.
I certainly understand the need to be safe from disease, that's a biggie for me, but I don't understand why BC seems to be such a problem. Are these newer pills less effective? What's up with this? We had pills, diaphrams, condoms, IUDs, sponges (a little later on), I didn't know of anyone who felt a need to use multiple methods. I'm baffled.
