Unhappy Perimenopause/Falling apart?

Hello, I went through a lot of stress this time last yr. and noticed my periods changed. The Dr. and I decided it was due to stress and not menopause. Over time my periods where a little irregular. One problem that I am having is that when I have sex and on the top, I'm bleeding afterwards. My partner feels that I am doing this on purpose. I have been to the Dr. and the paps are fine. So what is the problem? I've had sex with him before and it doesn't happen. It can be 2-3 days after my period. I notice the blood when I wipe and he notices it on the condum afterwards. I am a heavy woman but have height with it and he is large but I've had larger. So what's the deal?! 4th time and I think the last time was it. He was really upset.

First of all, it's ridiculous for him to think you would bleed on him on purpose or that it would even be possible to do that intentionally. That is just ignorant. Tell him that is not possible. No one can make their cycles start on command.

There could be a few different things causing your bleeding during sex. If your hormones are at certain levels, having sex triggers a fluctuation in hormones, this sends your body just to the point of bleeding a little.

There are also some health conditions which can be irritated during sex and cause some bleeding. If your doctor can't give you answers, it may help to get a second opinion. You may want to make sure you get a hormone test too, if you haven't already.

As you seem to know already, stress can cause irregular bleeding too. Sex can be stressful even if it doesn't seem like it. That could trigger bleeding.

You mentioned being slightly heavy. Excessive weight can cause hormone problems and irregular periods as well. You might want to ask your doctor if that could be playing a part in it.
