Both, definitely. Sometimes when me and my guy are cuddling there are times I just want my boyfriend to hold me and kiss my forehead, there are other times I want his hand in my pants. Same for sex. Mood has everything to do with it. If you can't tell what mood your girl is in, try taking it the soft and slow approach first, and don't go from that to rough without a mild and slow transition where you can gauge her reactions along the way to see if its something she is disliking, comfortable with or oh yeah into!
