You should still see someone to get a baseline for your health. There are things that can go on that have nothing to do with sexual activity.

That's right... I was almost 21 when I lost my virginity and I too was told that you didn't have to get one until you were sexually active but like PJ said... There are things that can go on without them being sexually related so definitely have one done.

I think it's a good idea to get one. It literally takes 10 minutes from the time you take your clothes off until they are finished...less time really if the doctor didn't take so long to come into the exam room lol...it's nothing to be afraid of and will give you peace of mind.

update: I just had my 2nd yearly exam done today and I'm still a virgin. My panties were off maybe 3 minutes max. The doctor will try to talk to you while they are doing it so you won't even notice a thing.

a pap test checks for abnormal cells in the cervix and the doctor checks to make sure everything else is normal. you do not have to be sexually active to have female problems so by all means go get a yearly checkup but please make sure your doctor knows that you are a virgin so that he/she can use a small speculam (i'm sure that's spelled wrong).
