Post Is it true or just a sex myth?

Ok, so between classes at college, sometimes my friends and I talk about sex. and One girl said that you can get pregnant from His precum (or what ever it is called.) some agreed, some said it was just a myth, and it turned into a small debate to which it got no real end. I for one would like to know as My man and I have unprotected sex, I'm not on birth control, and we are not yet ready for kids. (I know it sounds stupid that we take such a risk like this, but he pulls out before he cums, and after our last box of condoms ran out, we for some reason just never went to get more.) but now I'm over a week late and if it is true that precum can get me pregnant, then we shall be going back to protection or no sex. (Currently not having sex cuz of this scare. and i'm waiting one more week before getting a test.)

Yes you can get pregnant from pre cum...its still sperm. There are millions of sperm cells in a single drop of semen and it only takes one cell to make you pregnant. I dont want to scare you though but that is the fact. Always practise safe sex if you are not ready for a baby. I would suggest using condoms or find yourself a birth control method you prefer.

Take a test to be sure you're not pregnant.

    Good luck

    It's not a myth...

Everything x.st. stated is exactly how it is.

Don't take risks that your not prepared to go through with.. it's not worth it.

    Agreed with the two above!

The pull-out method shouldn't be considered a "method" at all.

I think the pull out method used in sync with the rhythm method is a lot more sound than just willy nilly doing it and pulling out.

If you abstain all together from sex on your fertile time (or use condoms) and pull out the times of the month you are not fertile - its a lot more safe as a practice than having sex and pulling out on your fertile time.

Based on the responses in this thread it seems like another old myth that refuses to die.
    *outbound link removed*

"Many also express concern that pre-ejaculate may contain sperm which can cause pregnancy, using this to argue against the use of coitus interruptus (withdrawal) as a contraceptive method. However some studies have found that withdrawal could be almost as effective as condoms in preventing pregnancy.[10] This being in direct contradiction to conventional wisdom, however, careful research and consideration should be used before using withdrawal as a contraceptive practice. There have been several studies that conclude no sperm is present and thus pre-ejaculate is ineffectual at causing pregnancy.[1][2][3][4] It is likely, however, that pre-ejaculate which follows a recent ejaculation will contain sperm, as some ejaculate is always left in the duct after orgasm.[11"

Am I allowed to mention the name of the site I quoted in my previous reply?

To follow up on my post. Even if pre-cum did contain some sperm, which is seems it does not, a few drops greatly reduces the chances of pregnancy compared to a full amount that is regularly ejaculated. I say this as someone who's not even a fan of the "pull out" method.

But it seems there is no sperm in pre-cum, so if the pull out method is correctly used, it's pretty darn safe. The real problem is a guy getting so excited during sex, that he's just a bit slow using the pull out method, and ends up shooting some inside the woman, before pulling out to finish. That is the real danger here, and some guys might just be a bit more careless than others in that process.

    Time for Plan B.

In the future remember the following: "People can't get pregnant from oral sex"
