Default Doctor says vagina isn't "deep"..how does that affect sex?

I've struggled with pain during penetration, but figured it was due to lack of lubrication, foreplay and an abusive partner.

I think I read somewhere having a "short" vagina and being very sensitive can affect how you feel penetration? Anybody know much about that?

I had a pap smear today, and it hurt. The doctor said everything looked normal though, and attributed it me being anxious this morning. She then went on to say how I wasn't that deep and maybe just sensitive......

Maybe the use of toys will allow you to have greater depth. You doctor may be able to give you information on what works.

Perhaps your vagina is shallow (you need to get that confirmed) and if so, then penetration could be painful, especially if it's less than gentle. I know that with a 'normal' length vagina, a long penis can be extremely painful with the amount of pressure it puts on the cervix (at the end of the vagina).

If you do indeed have a physical issue with the depth of your vagina your sexual partners need to made aware of this and they need to exercise restraint so that your experience is pleasurable rather than painful.

I found this, and would have to agree with it. I wasn't aroused during the time of the exam, but toys work fine with me when in a certain state.

The vaginal canal in any woman isn't even one static size, anyway: it changes. When we're less aroused, the vaginal walls are tighter, and the back of the vagina and cervix are closer to the opening. When we become highly sexually aroused, the cervix pulls back, the back of the vagina "tents" and makes that canal longer, and the whole of the vagina and vaginal opening loosen.

As a virgin male who is inexperienced in going all the way with a woman, but who has experienced foreplay with a woman, is it right that the vagina is only four inches long and that a long penis can be painful? I am eight inches in length last time I measured, and find that when it comes to sex in real life the women I have been with have not known what to do with it in the mutual stimulation that should lead to full sex; is that because it would be painful for a woman to take my whole length deep inside her, and if so how do I make my next experience with a woman much more successful? I am 34 now and would like to lose my virginity at some time!

    Stepjer:

When your vagina is relax the vaginal wall collapse to each other. The diameter is less than once inch and the length will be around 3 to 4 inches. However the size changes when you are ready for intercourse. At that time the diameter of your vaginal is not the same throughout the vaginal tunnel.

The narrowest part will be the opening of vagina and wider as it go deeper in to the vagina. Usually the front part of vagina has a size of one and a half inches. As we go deeper in to the vagina, the diameter is larger. The backend of vagina usually has a diameter of 2 1/2 inches. The length of vagina also changed. The front vagina wall has the length of 2 inches and the back end is 3 so the total is around 6 inches. However, the size will be change after child birth because of the extreme expansion of the vagina.

You might think 1 inches is kind of small for a males genital However, you vaginal wall is very elastic so it can accommodate most size. It can stretch enormously in length and width. In normal stage, muscle around vagina is relaxed and collapse to each other. However, the inner vagina wall will expand so it is longer and wider. Average woman can handle a 9 inches long and 2 inches wide. 60 % of woman has normal vagina size where 10 % has smaller and 30 % has larger vagina.

Bottom line is 8 inches is perfectly fine for most women If you're concerned, just take it slow and ask the girl how it's feeling. Some girls like it deep, some don't. I can feel it when my cervix is hit. It doesn't really bother me, but it doesn't happen all the time. Some girls do not like that feeling though.
