I can remember masterbating since I was about 3 years old and still took naps in the middle of the day, and have been doing it ever since. It wasn't even like I was thinking about sex or anything because I didn't even know what that was or care about boys at the time of course, I just realized it felt good and mastered it. I mean, all I do is lay on my stomach, push (with my undies still on) on the right spot with enough pressure, and viola!

My boyfriend of 4 years thinks I'm crazy whenever I talk about this... I can't possibly be the only girl who started this at such a young age can I? I assumed what I did/do is normal.

It IS normal. I don't have many memories from when I was THAT young, but I can remember from age 6 I was definitely attempting to masturbate. Unfortunately my mother tried to stop me whenever she found out, so that led me to have some mental blockage about learning to actually orgasm until I was in my late teens.

You're not the only one, it's a very natural and healthy thing to do, and lovingly whack your boyfriend on the bum for being silly, eh?

I remember fantasizing about sex long before I started masturbating (I think I started that around 8-9). It's hard to recall the exact year, but I remember involving toys and dolls in sex stories (in my head) and I felt very good. I even drawn my own porn-cartoons at a pre-teen age. I don't think I had the chance to explore masturbation before turning 8, considering I lived in a small apartment with my family at the time and didn't have my own room.

I don't know if it's common for children to have sexual fantasies, but I find it odd that I had the ability to do so without having seen anything like that before. (maybe it's a gift

).

Apparently it's very common for children to be sexual. For some reason many parents choose to pretend that this isn't true. Somehow sex = loss of "innocence" for a lot of people but... it's just a healthy, natural thing.

Actually, a lot of girls that age masturbate unknowingly... It's more of an issue of nervousness at that age where girls will initially do it because of the situation but not for the outcome. I know it sounds a little weird but it's a coping mechanism for some.

I've a few friends that are teachers and they're they ones that introduced me to this idea.

Children can be very sexual/sensual, that isn't the same thing as having sex. They naturally want to do things that feel good. Social conventions and religions have used that to induce guilt to point of creating frigidity and a sense wrongness about what is one of our strongest drives.

LOL this brought to mind the story about the Harry Potter broom toy. You stuck it between your legs and it vibrated to make you feel that you were flying. It was wildly popular, especially with girls and with women. Once the toy company figured out why they promptly pulled it. Musn't have anyone enjoying it too much.

Its nature.

Puppies in a pack exhibit bahaviour which may look like playing but they are actually learning hunting techniques and even mating.

They do not know that they are learning skills for life but its natural behaviour.

We are a different species but we still exhibit instinctive behaviour.

Oh my gosh I thought I was the only one! I remember being in preschool and doing it. I would do it the same way, lying on my tummy. and my mum stopped me too, I did not reliase what I was really doing or why it was bad.

Maybe that could contribute to why I cant orgasm now.... I only reliased it was actually called masturbation when I read my first Dolly magazine at 13!
