Concerning BC, here's something: (you can also find plenty of studies on the subject if you make a quick search)

"Why Does the Pill Affect Sex Drive?

It appears that the birth control pill affects sex drive because it acts directly on a woman's sexual hormones. In particular, the birth control pill inhibits the production of androgens, including testosterone, in a woman's ovaries. Androgens have a direct effect on the pleasure that you experience during sexual intercourse. Additionally, the birth control pill also appears to increase the amount of sex-hormone binding globulin (SHBG) in the body. SHBG is a protein that binds to testosterone, preventing a woman's body from using it effectively. High levels of SHBG have been directly linked to decreased libido and sexual desire."

BB: when you have those throbbings, why don't you call up your husband and ask him to come home to satisfy you. If he really wants you to initiate, this is what he is looking for and he should find out some way to make it happen. Mind you, not all the time but once in a while. Remind him not to speed.

Does he drive you to multiple orgasm every time? Did you orgasm a lot when you were promiscuous? Have you experienced everything sex has to offer, or are there some new exciting experiences still to be explored?

Any of the common antihistamines have that effect on me, anything with pseudoephedrine in it: it's not so much ED as it is "distraction," for want of a better word: I couldn't stay focused long enought to become aroused.

I'm starting to look at other women a lot more now, and it scares me.
Been there... except the sex is now so infrequent that "rare" would be a huge improvement!

Yes it's all synthetic, not real hormones .... but if if didn't work it wouldn't do anything. It works .... so therefore it has to do something.
It does do something, it aids in preventing pregnancy. That is it's job, and it's purpose.

Just because it didn't have an affect on your drive doesn't mean it doesn't on all the other women taking it.
Absolutely, and that is why it is purely subjective and no confirming correlation/causation can result. One person can say "omg the pill did this to me", and another can cancel it out by saying "well it didn't have that effect on me so maybe something else is the culprit here". Its just a game of ping pong.

The thing needed is more studies, and then more and more studies from there. Making a conclusion from 100 test subjects can be done to be statistically significant however it does not mean it is a representation of the population as a whole. Everyone is going to react differently when they take the pill so nothing more can be done other than to say that there are plenty of side effects possible
There are those who believe that dictionaries should not merely reflect the times but also protect English from the mindless assaults of the trendy.

I have the same probem, im 43 and have had a full hysterectomy along time ago, ( not all at once) But to make a long story short...i ended up going to a dr. and he prescribed me the hormone Estratest. Then things improved allot, and i felt more normal again.
But.... then about a year later i went to go refill my prescrip. and the pharmacist said they quit making it and that it was no long available and no answer as to when it might be available again.
well i did my own research to find out what was going on.
and found out... that the company was being sued for malpractice, that they were selling it as if it was FDA approved, and it wasnt.

So......... now im back to square one again... and ive talked to my current dr. about trying to get on some other kind of hormones or something, and he's like totaly against homones...he says they can cause cancer etc... wich i understnd, but i need some help. Im too young to be feeling like this.

oh he also said he wants me to get a mamagram before he will ever think of even prescibing me any type or hormones.
and he said some of my other meds could affect my sex drive but i dont think so cause i was on them along time ago and no prob.
    so... anyways...
just letting you know your not alone.. when it comes to that.
