Mirena is also hormonal so it could have the same effect. Also some insurance companies do not cover it because of how many people have problems with it and how new it is. I had to get mine while planned parenthood was offering them free because my insurance despite being very good would cover every form of birth control but that. Mine came out 3 weeks later after much pain. There are nonhormonal iuds. Paragard is a copper one. That might be a better option.

As for countering hormonal birth control all of the pills that work for guys have some effect for females. Just not as much or as obvious. I've taken my husband's otc pills before and some others. There are also topical gels and liquids that can be applied to the clit to increase arousal and sensation. We use those sometimes when I'm willing but not getting into the mood or to counter the dryness that birth control pills can also cause. Sometimes I just do not get wet and it is not feeling good until we apply one of the gels.

Side note about the herbals, do not at all believe something that you can get without a prescription. So basically if you see it on a site saying "100% all natural birth control with no prescription!" you are likely looking at a scam in the form of sugar pills. If it is going to be put into the body through oral or implantation for the purpose of preventing pregnancy it is going to require a prescription. Condoms, spermicide and things of the OTC sort are the other forms of birth control which are the options if you have no insurance. But for your fiancee's health and safety I would highly highly highly recommend you completely avoid anything online when it comes to birth control, there are just too many out-of-basement scammers trying to make a quick buck with fake pills.
There are those who believe that dictionaries should not merely reflect the times but also protect English from the mindless assaults of the trendy.
