Many men are too 'peniscentric' and care only about the acts that stimulate their penis. Not all men get off on getting their partner off. On the other hand, most women aren't the same way about their vaginas and will happily perform acts that stimulate their partner.

So, yes, often it is 'all about him.'

Glad you posted herbie and happy anniversary.

Many women do tell their partner what they want but they may be too subtle in deference to the fragile male ego and not wanting to hurt their partner. You will read post from woman with a poor sexual partner with problems getting him to change. The wives of guys who welcome communication about sex from their partner, are not posting here. So what you read are post from people with problems so you can't make any generalizations.

There are some features common with the sexual underperforming partner: - partner 1) becomes defensive 2) acts hurt 3) changes for a short time and then goes back or 4) does not change at all. But the same men expect to continue having sex anyway and are angry when the sex decreases and stops!

I am always puzzled as to why all men don't take the time to study female sexuality and how to please a woman since sex is so important to them. I am also puzzled about men who slowly become selfish and lazy by cutting down on foreplay, wanting too many quickies, too many demands for one sided orgasms, criticize their partners, expect an academy award acting performance and like a big show of enthusiasm no matter how bad the sex, abrupt approaches, groping. What do they think will happen?? Less sex of course, yet there are many men who fall into this pattern if you read the forums.

In a way, I think these men still don't get it, they don't yet realize that mutual sexual satisfaction is important to maintain a relationship these days. It is changing though, generation Y have grown up knowing that woman can have orgasms and expect them, and woman have no problem leaving a relationship that is sexually unsatisfactory.
