Cool I Think I Love My Wife Movie (2007)

I recently (finally) saw the movie I Think I Love My Wife (2007, with Chris Rock). There was one quote that put into words a think I've always wondered:

“What I can't figure out is how can my wife not have sex with me, and then send me out ... into a world with so many beautiful women?"

It's hilarious... (and sadly, commonplace) that he's not getting any nookies, but he has to go to work on a train, and he sees all these gorgeous women, and fantasizes them almost naked and wishes he could have sex with them (to make up for what he's not getting at home!).

And this I find absolutely puzzling, since it's happened to me so often in the past. At one time, after being married for six months, we didn't have it for 3 weeks. And I swear, if there had been the opportunity of another woman, I would definitely have hopped over and found me another bed partner one, two, three!!

I feel a lot of sympathy for guys who find they have to get it elsewhere when it turns out their spouse isn't really interested. Aren't women even concerned about this situation? They definitely seem to either be naive, not care, or simply like to live on the daredevil edge!

One work colleague told me he'd "never cheated on his wife", even though he went with prostitutes quite regularly. He didn't feel at all guilty, since he only did this if he was denied at home (thereby getting a free pass)!

I think I'd rather if a guy seen if there was any problem that sex wasn't happening, or made her feel special and loved.
Rather than going and getting it some where else because it wasn't happening at home.

I don't think women should worry about it, then it would be a scenario of

"Oh, we better have sex atleast twice this week, or he'll look some where else"

I would rather make love to a man I love, rather than having sex with him, so he doesn't look else where.

Well being female, I've been on the other side with a man refusing sex. It's not the gender, its the person.

There's no doubt in my mind that not being sexually compatible will make either gender go out and seek satisfaction somewhere else. Every individual has different time limits that they can stand. Once you've had sex and experienced it I think it's extremely hard to go without (for a person that enjoys having sex on a regular basis at least).

In no way do I think "I must have sex with my fiance or he's going to leave me" But I KNOW that I've got to make an effort to be sexy and appealing and sometimes just give in even if I'm not completely in the mood.

I think people need to be a bit more open with each other, especially before committing to something as huge as marriage. Lay all their cards out on the table and just have a good heart-to-heart to find out if they're even compatible or willing to compromise. Some people are fine with sex once a month, and others need it twice a week. A Two-times-a-week probably shouldn't marry a once-a-month. It's just common sense.
