We've had some discussion about this before. I intend this to be a fairly serious, as factual as possible thread.
I got an overview of a sex education presentation the other night, that was fantastic. It was humorous, it was not about relationships or morality or even reproduction really. It was about bodies and how they work sexually. The presenter explains what arouses both genders based on physiology. He talked about "growers" and "showers", about how to touch a woman's breasts to arouse her. He explains the similarities in male and female sexual organs, including erectile tissue, ejaculation and orgasm in both.
It was an overview of the 90 min presentation he does but I learned a few things in it. I'm no expert but I probably pay more attention to this subject in terms of reading and discussion than the average person. The therapists, educators and sexologists there agreed that this type of education would make a huge difference in people's lives.
One of our Tantric educators recommended the movie, Let's Talk About Sex by James Houston.
Here are some facts from the USA:
Every day in America, 10,000 teens catch a sexually transmitted disease,
2,400 teen girls get pregnant,
55 young people are infected with HIV.
By ages 18-19, 62% of American teenagers have had sex. 70% have had some sexual contact (anal, oral, or vaginal).
Of the 18.9 million new STD cases in the U.S. each year, nearly 50% occur among 15-24 year olds.
30% of teenage girls in the U.S become pregnant before the age of 20. More than 80% of those pregnancies are unintended.
In the U.S. the teen pregnancy rate is over four times that of the Netherlands, over three times that of Germany, and almost three times that of France.
Teen pregnancies cost U.S. taxpayers 9 Billion dollars a year.
Teen STD's cost taxpayers 6.5 billion dollars a year.
If the U.S. were able to achieve the sexual health outcomes on a par with the Netherlands, American teens each year would experience 600,000 fewer pregnancies, 350,000 fewer births and 63,000 fewer abortions. The annual savings for American taxpayers would reach $505 million.

When we add to this the estimates that as many as 15% of American women are Anorgasmic (unable to orgasm). Additionally, of those women who are orgasmic it is estimated they do so only 50-70% of the time.

Obviously we have some problems and what we have been learning and doing isn't adequate.
This isn't intended so much to be a discussion thread but more informational. If you are going to post information here as fact, I expect reputable sources, not you think or someone at the gym told you or "everybody" knows.
