is public sex illegal?

Ok so me and my boyfriend sneek out at night on weekends and have sex so that we can do as we please. We sneak away from out parents who don't care if we have sex or not but don't like us doing it near them. We live in this area where the is a fire house inbetween our houses. it is for volenter firemen and there is a big field open area that has boat type thing we do it next to. Cars do drive by but they can't see us due to the shadows, the boat, and just the area we are at. Its not a busy area. I was curious though, is it illegal to have public sex?

Depends on how the laws are written. It may be illegal to expose certain parts of your body or to engage in certain acts in the public view. In some places it is illegal to perform some fairly common sex acts anyplace, ever.

I'd have to research it further but I believe in my state (Virginia) sex in public is allowed if you're married and don't scare the horses. I believe awhile back a married couple here was arrested for having sex on the hood of a car but weren't prosecuted because they couldn't find a law that covered it.

Illegal in Missouri, as it is considered "indecent exposure".
Urinating outside in the country at night will get your name and face on the sex offenders list here in our State. It wouldn't have been if the Sheriff's Deputy wouldn't have put the spotlight on people.

BTW, I've never been caught taking a whizz outside. Operative word is "Caught" - LOL!!! Just the word "whizz", makes me laugh my head off.
